Saw it yesterday, and while it was good...I think most of us were expecting GREAT/THE BEST!! (well, at least for IllJedi it was..:D ).

But, I am with (what appears anyway..) the majority..I think for one movie there was one or two many story-lines going on..Just not enough time to properly explain and explore them all. And I am afraid that detracted from the whole experience for me. It was like Raimi knew he wasn't going to make another one, so he tried to cram as much as he could into this. And, by doing that, I think he took what had the potential to be a bar raising Super hero movie..into one of the also-rans...good, ,but not great.

I read somewhere that they are working on Spider-Man 4 and that one of the characters that die in the end comes back.

This rumor was running rampant for 3 as well, in the comics Norman comes back and spends a lot of time in the background making Peter's life miserable. Norman has been rumored to return in 2 and in 3, I've heard rumors again for 4. Although the comeback story which is usually farfetched was nicely handled in the pages or at least shallowable, but I think everyone has had enough Goblins for now. They could bring back Venom without to much issue saying that the pumpkin bomb melded Brock and the Symbiote and that it was disinigrated but torn apart into little pieces that would come back after finally getting together a la Sandman.

What we need to see is frickin' Lizard...that character is an amazing slow emergence. If you read the Ultimate Spider-Man......their version of Carnage comes from Dr. Connors himself....with a small specimen....I'll leave it at that....

Yeah, I agree with most of you as well.... I didn't hate the movie by any stretch... but just think it was too much to put into one film. I'm normally not super critical at all, so I wasn't expecting to be in any way disappointed. But I was, just a little bit. :monkey2

I think it just should have been split in two like Pirates 2 and 3. Just give us enough time to really get to know all of the new characters... and maybe end it with a little more finesse.

It was a good movie, had a lot of potential to be Great... hell, even the greatest ever. But it was just too much to swallow all at once.

I'll still buy it and be excited about it, still getting the figures and statues... I'm even playing the XBOX 360 game. But I was still a little disappointed.

One real honest note, I'm fairly upset that the Black Suited Spidey didn't make more of an appearance and that they didn't do the whole ASM Venom intro where Pete liked the Black suit and made one for himself after discarding the symbiote. I would have loved to have seen Black Suited Spidey versus Venom, would been easy to do on film too because in the comics Mary Jane asks him to get rid of the Black suit because of Venom's terrorizing her and she is really uncomfortable around it....the film almost perfectly set that up....

Now this is an argument that I can accept, if it had been split in two movies it would have been even more awesome.

Splitting them in two would have been sweet... It would really help the story and there would be more Venom, Sandman and Symbiote:rock
