Thanks Khev.... but I sold my Batman a long time ago... Just hated how stiff he was.
Ah, I didn't know that. Are you getting the red/blue Spidey as well? The head color on the black seems to match the costume a lot better in your pics.

Oh yeah! I got classic spidey coming Thursday and Venom coming in the next month from Alter Ego. I also ordered Peter as well. :rock

I'm thinking about getting these. I want the red and blue Spider-Man for sure, and I like the Peter Parker one, too.

I wonder if they're going to make more characters, like Sandman and Harry as the New Goblin (the one I want the most). Does anyone know?

Probably not, Medicoms all about 1 wave only. I can see where that upsets lots of people, but in the companies mindset, as far as Western based toys go (minus Star Wars) it's a big risk. They cater to their Eastern market more, being their prime source of income, so they're not as sure Western wise what will sell or be popular. They might do more Marvel movie heros though, but since the iron is hottest during release, I don't think they'll risk it. Star Wars and comic-based Marvel are timeless. Luckily more & more Medi seems to be giving the West more notice, and I hope now that they're dealing w/ SS they can get a better feel for the Western collectors pulse.

Jeez, if that's the case I wish Hot Toys would get these licenses that could offer some really cool 2nd and 3rd wave figures and not Medicom. Although Medy did make a Peter Parker fig so maybe that means they are going to branch out a little and produce a few more characters from the SM movies.

And since, like you mentioned, Medicom is dealing with SSC as a US distributor then maybe we'll see more than a single wave of figs in a series. One can only hope!

Well the way all of Japan does business is different. For instance, in America if there's a big audience for say blue shirts, American business' will cater to that. In Japan though, usually, they ignore trends. They have some guy come up with something and then the guys up top say "Lets MAKE a market for this, let's find a market and sell it to them and allow them to make the product bigger" (kinda like free advertising) and so on, rather than ASKING "Who do we sell this to?"

It seems weird, but it works. I mean Japan has more disposable income than to know what to do with! But now they're trying to reach out West and things are getting a little confused on both sides. B

BEFORE Medicom would say "Lets just make the most popular character, that's all they want from this American movie" and it works....in JAPAN, but here they don't see, I think, we want more. I think Medicoms learning though, I mean look, we thought the Star Wars line was dead, and they brought it back. THEY LEARNED. Same with comic Marvel. I think what's MOST LIKELY to happen, is for future Marvel Movie releases Medicom will make MORE characters in wave 1, or possibly plan 2 waves. I think THEY think it's too late to go back to older movies though.

I dunno though, just basing all this off their history. BUT what I like about Medicom over ALL other 1/6 toy companies, is they LEARN. They learn and change. Not that HT needs to now, they kick ass, and hopefully SS is changing too, but it's happened most obviously happening with Medi. That's a good thing. Human likeness, they realised we wanted less cartoony, more real, WE GOT IT. More from our fav. lines, Star Wars and the thought dead Comic Marvel BOTH coming back HUGE. I think we'll get more Movie Marvel, but not yet, maybe in 08.

But all the while too, we got to remember, WE are not their biggest concern, Japan is. So in the end they will ALWAYS put the Japanese market before the Western markets. But it makes sense.

In light of your theory then it would appear that HT is doing the opposite of Medicom and turning it's attention towards the western market in a big way.
With figures like Trautman and Rambo from a 15 year old American movie to some of the more recent figs like Terminator and Aliens, it looks like HT is really catering to a more western based customer.
Hot Toys is going full steam into waves of figures and, looking at the Power Loader, auxillary items that makes them the leader in the 1:6 world right now.
Maybe Medicom will follow.

darkartist those are really cool shots, man!!i really like that mid air spidey pose from the side..:D ur repaints rocks!!especially supes!!!more moreeeee!!!!!!

No doubt, but that's Hong Kong marketing. Plus look at those movies. They're very generation specific, ya know? Rambo, Predator, Aliens, Terminator, Robo-Cop I mean that's a very focused market. In Japan, those aren't as big as they are here, they're big, but not AS big. HT seems to be VERY focused on the Western market.

Either way, we're gettting awesome figures, from both companies from a huge pallet of movies/comics/manga and the more the merrier.

Sorry to all others about the hijacking.:D

Oh yeah! and Ditto! :D

Man, I'm starting to get anguish about these figures! - They were charges to be my charge last week, but because I'm an international shipment I have to wait till Thursday or Friday for it to ship out... I'm usually quite patient when it comes to all this - Maybe I'm losing it! :monkey5

Nice pics of the red an blue DarkArtist!! I'm liking it more and more. I just wish Medicom wouldn't throw all of these at us at the same time. If these sell out before I have enough to buy them I'll be pissed.

They really are phenomenal.... only thing taking away any points would be the lack of fists, another "thwip" hand.... and webbing.

If it had those things... it would be a grand slam. But even without them, these figures rule and pose a lot better than you would think. :rock

muahaha...those 'head switching' shots are hilarious, darkartist:D !!thats what toys are for!!!
