Venom wasn’t a bad movie but if your a venom fan and Spider-Man fan like me it pisses you off a bit. I don’t care how great the fit the personality, the whole origin and no connection to Spider-Man thing pisses me off

First reactions are in and it's a blast, better than the 1st, it deals with post 2nd snap world and both post credits are great.

When will the Marvel streak end!

Did I lol

Anyways Amy Pascal is such a hot mess in her press tour holy crap slurring her speech making no sense talking low with directionless comments I mean how does a super wealthy head of productions not get her hair combed for a major press tour poor Feige he was cringing the entire time lol

She needs intervention she should call Affleck for help.......:monkey5

First of all that was LOL

While I fully comprehend and respect where he's coming from he certainly presented a very logical well laid out argument there is a point where I won't get worked up over the unnecessary forced changes.

I'll provide just two examples to keep this short.

Example 1: Let's say I have 500 Spiderman movies with 500 white redhead MJ's I think I can survive movie number 501 having a Puerto Rican Black mix MJ with a different lifestyle than the white MJ from the comics.

Example 2: Ok let's take Black Panther he said the character absolutely should never be white ok yes his name is Black Panther afterall right?

But let's say I have 500 BP movies where we have a black actor portraying BP but if I get movie number 501 to mix things up a bit and T'Challa is killed and a close CIA friend of his dons the BP costume to infiltrate and punish the evil organization that ordered the murder I would not lose my **** over it.

Sure am I offering an extreme example by saying 500 movies of course I am but in Hollywood talk sometimes were seeing these characters repeated over and over so i'm ok with the changes because if I want a white MJ movie i'll just go watch the other half dozen and ignore Zendaya MJ if it bothered me that much.

That being said yes of course the best solution will always remain to just create new awesome characters instead of altering existing characters.

It's not like Superman ever said he's only going to rescue white people because he was a white alien he was for everyone therefore is a black Superman really required?

Yep, well put jye. Especially if the udpated version of the character is tweaked in other ways like MCU MJ not being Mary Jane Watson anyway. That's why I don't have a problem with Sam Wilson Cap since he's still Sam Wilson and not Steve Rogers. Hell now that we got a perfect Steve Rogers already I wouldn't even care if the rebooted him now and made him black. They did it right the first time so they can have a ball doing whatever from here on out.

And I honestly don't think that when Bryan Hitch drew Nick Fury to look like SLJ in The Ultimates that he was trying to tokenize the character. He literally just gave him the likeness of the most badass actor he could think of at the time and it happened to stick. No harm no foul. Same with MCD Kingpin. Sure I like D'Onofrio's Fisk more but there's room for both.

Still that guy's rant was funny as well especially went he went off about how he was supposed to be grateful that they made Monica Rambeau a little girl who idolizes Brie Larson, lol.

Dude I was laughing so hard watching that he seriously crushed it lol

Yeah the SLJ Ultimates thing was fine by me back then I already had a ton of books with bad *** OT rebel soldier looking Fury from when I was a kid who to this day still looks better than SLJ Fury, sorry MCU.

Holy crap does he hilariously destroy race-bending comic characters, including changing white ones to black, lol.

White supremacists come in black aswell? Who knew! j/k. He's absolutely right.

SLJ Nick Fury though. He owns that character now as far as I'm concerned. Granted I was never all that familiar with the white version.

That's good, since I've got opening day tickets. Think my bro is more excited than I am tho - but - don't mean that in a negative way. Was never a huge Spidey fan. Also except for the TV series sounds like it will be a long haul until the next film - Marvel needs time to count all that money from EG:devil

The next movie is due out in May of next year. So ... it's a 10-month gap, but it's not that long.

10 months?? Really? I mean, come on give us a break. Everyone is sooo tired of these movies. We've been getting 3 MCU movies a year for so long now... Enough already!! Superhero fatigue, am I right? :wink1:

I mean, since SW fatigue is a real thing and why Solo bombed even with only 1 movie a year for a total of 4 movies in 4 years (even though the previous 3 all broke $1 bill). And X-Men fatigue is a thing as to why Dark Phoenix bombed too. One X-Men movie every 3 years is just too much for fans to bear...

:lol On a serious note, curious if Marvel is gonna reveal their plans for phase 4 at SDCC this year since they again will be there but this time without an actual movie to promote since nothing has been officially announced past Spidey Far From Home.

Hopefully phase 4 is more promising than I feel it will be.
