“Freaking brilliant” I was confused also....been then got what was being said.
After the first post-credit scene I literally thought"wow Fury, you suck, exposing Parker's identity to an unvetted superhero."
And then after the second post-credit scene I was all "oh, okay that makes sense," lol.
Prior to the second post-credit scene, did you have any inkling that
Fury and Maria Hill were Skrulls? I didn't put two and two together, but I couldn't help noticing how Cobie Smulders/Maria Hill seemed to be deliberately less made-up than I expected. In retrospect, I wonder if that was done to indicate that Soren didn't have quite the same experience/eye for detail as Talos when it came to copying someone.
No I did not figure it out but I did notice that Maria Hill looked different in a way that I also couldn't totally put my finger on. I did think make note of Fury telling Peter not to mention Captain Marvel's name and that he was concerned about a new Kree outpost being discovered or whatever it was because it seemed like an oddly shoehorned reference. Not after the big reveal though, lol.
Yeah I am tired of this ironman junior angle I miss the old spidey . The story is very reliant on the extended MCU universe . I guess I am just old school.Saw this last night. I wasn't a fan of Homecoming and wasn't expecting to like this, however after accepting that this is an all new version of Spidey with no relation to the source material I enjoyed it. I enjoyed it quite a bit actually. This is Petey Parker the Craptacular Spider-Man, a reluctant hero who isn't quite there yet. Ostensibly the movie's a teen comedy, with quick fire jokes some of which land and some don't. The direction and action scenes are a league ahead of Homecoming, with some really inventive action in the third act.
Inconsequential but fun nonetheless. The Raimi films are still the gold standard for me though.

Good thing we don't have to rely on our detective skills to put food on the table.
The old Raimi Spidey was great, but I think Sony's failed reboot showed that a fresh approach was required.
In keeping with my minority movie opinions, Garfield was my favorite Spidey. Not only did he look the part, but the explanation of Spidey and the villains' powers coming from the same source made much more sense than all these things happening by accident.
Also, it's assumed that poor box office/reception was the reason for yet another reboot, but I think it had more to do with the Marvel/Sony deal and Garfield falling out with Sony bosses.
This is what it feels like as a ASM fan...I agree about Garfield, I think he portrayed the most comic book accurate Spidey, the rest of the ASM movies were just second rate, especially when compared to Raimi's still hard to beat Spider-Man 1 & 2.
https://youtu.be/jzXMT-p7knoSorry but ASM 1 is just horrible with that ridiculous lizard.
ASM 2 had an incredible looking Spidey especially in 3D but that was it.
Just forget about them.

I'm surprised Paul Giamatti still has a film career after that cameo.
