Everyone can relate to Peter Parker - no one can relate to Bruce Wayne/James Bond. BW/JB is more of a wish fulfillment lol
As a kid I was more of a Spider-Fan, but honestly, it was never about relating to him; I just liked the powers and his demeanor and costume. I related more to Batman because he was a tryhard operatic manchild with clear issues. Parker was "nerdy" but still a chad, and as time went on he started getting on my nerves with his naive worldview. Batman just became a ****, and I can relate to that. All of my favourites are ***** on some level. Doom, Stark, Richards, Strange, Kang, JonCon, etc. I'm attracted to ***** I guess. Accomplished and enjoyable *****, of course, they're still powerfantasies, but ***** nonetheless. When a character's too good and pure, like say, Luke Skywalker, I can like them, a whole lot too, but I always feel a bit out of touch. My favourites have to be both power fantasies and have some traits I can relate too. And personally I've always found flaws to be what makes a character resonate. Parker's flaws are that he's a naive ******* who's too good for his own good. That irks me, and reminds me of my younger years, so I'm turned off. I suppose living as a neurotic but cheerful doormat for a lot of my life, I came to develop a taste for characters whose flaws I even saw as more likeable than mine. I'd say it's just a power fantasy, but I do like seeing villains lose, so... I suppose that feeds into setting myself up for failure or sometihng and seeking validation through them. Whatever, I've got enough problems, Freud can stay in his lane.

I could care less about nerdy Peter Parker. I like his costume, powers, and villains.
Based! A TOAST!

Batman always had better waifus.

The fact that Tobey Spidey and all his films are now part of the MCU canon is 🤯

That means you can watch that trilogy and go straight to the Holland trilogy as if it was all one series of Spidey films. You can even watch the Garfield ones too in chronological order. That's crazy. Has any franchise ever done a stitch job of that magnitude? Dr Strange 2 might outdo NWH, but until then, I'll give NWH credit for uniting all the films.

Hot Shots! Part Deux

Yup so that means all the early 2000s marvel films are now canon. Raimi Spider-Man is forever mcu canon and replaced iron man as the first mcu star lol. Maybe Hugh jackman did aswell.
The thing that bugs me is that is the mcu the only universe with all the superhero’s together? I could’ve sworn tobey’s universe had some other heroes in it .

He might...

in Dr Strange 2

Now if they can make Wesly Snipes Blade canon, I'll be amazed.

Aunt May referenced Superman as.if he was a real person which brings Chris Reeve into the MCU and Metropolis was mentioned by Kilmer Bats so we just got him too! :panic:

Andrew never bothered me, he was a pretty good Spider-Man, but the movies themselves were awful.

I like Andrew Garfield. He was quite good in "The Social Network." But I just didn't buy him as Peter Parker at all. He was just too "cool." Skateboarding around and thrashing it up....that whole bit with the basketball. At no point did I buy him as a nerdy Peter Parker type.

He looked good in the costume....and good on him staying slim enough all these years to fit back into it. Hell, I can't even fit into my pants from a few months ago.

I never saw ASM2, but I thought Garfield most likely gave his best performance as Spidey in this movie.
