doesn't this subject just tick you off? here's a professional athlete who enters in a long term deal with a team for security, and wins the super bowl. now with three years left on his contract, he refuses to participate in mini-camp and may hold out if he doesn't get a contract re-negotiation. wait a minute plaxico! you were getting paid before to WIN! now that you've done your job, you want more? you guessed it, i'm talking about giants wr plaxico burress, who else? i say let the ******* sit for 3 years and get out of game shape. then we'll see what he's worth.

Yeah, I hate it when players want to rework their contract for more money. They usually do it like a year or 2 after signing it too.

If a player stinks, the owner of the team can't rework the contract so the player makes less, so why should players be allowed to do it for more. Nobody forced them to sign the contract, if they agreed to it they should honor it. If they want more money they should keep playing well and get a new contract when it's up, otherwise they should have thought about it before they signed it.

Doesn't something like that count as "breach of contract?"

Giants should be fining the hell outta him right now.

That's what happens with these guys. They make some, big plays in a big game, and POW they want 2 to 3 times the money. I'd say make these big plays plays consistently for a while and we shall talk. Just MY OWN.

GO PACKERS GREENBAY ALL THE WAY:D

Actually in football the team can do just that. The only guaranteed money in NFL contracts is signing bonuses and incentives as far as I know. If you have a poor year, they can pretty much cut your ass, at least that is what I always heard.

Yep, they can do that.

Ha ha, talk about a ******* move! My parents live down the block from him, Next time I'm over their house , should I see him, I'll ask him what the hell he's thinking! Oh wait nvermind he's thinking Ca$h!:lol Giants, should say buh by!

It happenned to us here in Edmonton, the Oilers went all the way to the finals in 06' then all of a sudden Chris Pronger (gets some dirty whore pregnant) decides to eek his way out of a 5 year contract. It was only his first year here.

We traded him and gave him exactly what he wanted, I swear the player (well certain ones of course) have all the power regardless of sport. What happenned to the good ol' days when players use to smoke during intermissions and do oil changes on weekends to make ends meet?

football fans OK with this? must love paying those ticket prices. :lol :lol :lol

No team owner has ever been forced against their will to renegotiate an existing and valid contract with an athlete.
