Re: Spud's Customs - Battlefront group shots

Thanks guys.

Here's a few other shots in better lighting off of my work desk.

Boots are from the DiD Japanese zero pilot.

Re: Spud's Customs - Battlefront group shots

Haha, just this week I've been battling those freakin' braids - and someone else has been going through the same thing!:rotfl
Yours is looking AWESOME!:clap

I finally decided to finish my long-half-finished Weequay and man, he's a pain. Thought it'd be a quickie job, but it's anything but. Blending black mane with blondish-brown mane, getting those couple of hair stalks to stick out sideways.

Interesting how his clothes seem to have really faded from film shooting to the SW exhibits. The pants look like a mustard tan in the movie but look off-white in the exhibits, and his shirt is a light powder blue in the movie but seems almost white in the exhibits. I tried to match the blue on the shirt using dye (didn't want to paint it) but it was just too hard. Mine ended up more like the new Hasbro 3 3/4" figure, which is a grey-blue. Even just his pants are hard to get looking just right.:slap:lol

Re: Spud's Customs - Battlefront group shots

Thanks man. I appreciate that. Yeah I went back and revisited mine again last night and extended and built onto his braids and kind of got the sticking out look you're talking about. It took me forever to find a shirt that I could use. When TA recently parted out the Frankenstein racer from Death Race I got one of the shirts and it was just what I was looking for. And I didn't really want to paint it because then it would get all stiff. What I did was just put less than half a tablespoon of blue dye in probably about a quart of water to where it wasn't really strong and I just did a quick dip then rinsed it. I think I did that twice as needed. Way better to get a little less than too much because that makes you shout obscenities. haha For the pants I'll tell you right now that that was straight luck. I used a pair of Sideshow Jedi pants (don't remember whose) and they were a little too light, but again I wanted to stay away from paint. So I got some liquid RIT Camel and Yellow and did probably a 3 to 1 mixture respectively of those two and it came out exactly how I wanted it. I was like, "damn, that's awesome." haha

Re: Spud's Customs - Battlefront group shots

Put together one of Duane's awesome vibro-axes to polish off my Weequay. Also revisted his braids extending them and building them up a little. Aside from maybe finding some more suitable hands for him so he can hold the staff properly, I'm about ready to call him finished.

Yeah if mine comes out half that good I'll be happy. I've got all your pics up on my desktop to try to match it.

Between pics of yours, Chaka's and Darkness Pred's stuff, there's not a lot of room left on my desktop right now.:lol

Re: Spud's Customs - Weequay

Thanks guys.

Got started on my Battlefront Scout trooper using the Tomy helmet. The more I look at it the more I like it over Sideshow's helmet. He's on a DiD body.

Re: Spud's Customs - Weequay

Great collection and just thinking of the time you put into each piece the love shows, congrats!
