It's far from over-the-top though. It's basically Vader with added details, which is far from the more extreme designs they've pulled. There's so many vanilla Vaders out there that something a little original is more than welcome (I also like Bandai's samurai Vader even though it's pricey). Besides, Square is essentially selling the FF-styled Japanese look and in that regard, the PAK figure most definitely succeeds. For a good $90, that's fine by me.
I personally think it looks great and I'm sure I'm not alone on this. I say let the companies be more creative with old properties like these, a little bit of variety in my collection would be nice. Plus, I'd be curious to see Square's take on other characters (for better or worse).
I mean let's be honest, it's not like there's a shortage on Vader figures out there.
I like it. I'm not fond of having the same damn character with the same designs in different scales. I like having variety in my collection. This is a different enough rendition of Darth Vader that got my attention.
