Hey Ringer can you post a close up pic of just the arrow from the cave troll bust as when i bought mine off a retailer it came minus the arrow. I kept the bust as he offered me a partial refund. I am going to attempt to make my own arrow so a couple of pics would be great thanks inadvance.

I definitely agree on Sauron and ML, but I dunno about the Balrog being 1/9. He's the only one I have, and he seems pretty close to scale with the Lurtz PF IMO. In fact, that was the deciding factor on me getting him, figured he was as close to a 1/4 scale 'rog I was likely to get.

I don't think this Blarog is 1/4 scale. First off . . . if you look at the film footage of Gandalf going head-to-head with the Balrog, his whole height is about the height of the Balrog's head (anyone have a screengrab??). Now, if Lurtz is 1/4 scale, then it goes to show that GTG is the same scale, roughly, and therefore would be out of scale with this Rog head.

It's hard to judge sizes from the film footage since the Balrog is in the background compared to Gandalf. But I do think that the Balrog LSB is smaller than 1/4 scale. Could be close to 1/6.

By the way things are looking grim for my dark counsel dio, I think UPS lost it!

OK, you're probably right... I was basing my idea of scale on this piece. if you see here, if you turn Gandalfs head sideways, it takes up about the width of Balrogs face (if that makes sense). Same with the LSB vs PF heads. I suppose it's very possible scale is off on this piece as well though:

In either regards, it's all good. I'm still very happy with the 'Rog on display with my PF's (and still wish I had that awesome Cave Troll to go with them as well).

I had it in my cart for a good 10 minutes debating it too. Never got it either. The Gimli helm makes up for it though.

OK, you're probably right... I was basing my idea of scale on this piece. if you see here, if you turn Gandalfs head sideways, it takes up about the width of Balrogs face (if that makes sense). Same with the LSB vs PF heads. I suppose it's very possible scale is off on this piece as well though:

In either regards, it's all good. I'm still very happy with the 'Rog on display with my PF's (and still wish I had that awesome Cave Troll to go with them as well).

I don't buy that the "life sized" balrog is actually life sized. Just look at the movie. It sure looks like the balrog's head is about as big as a person is tall. Also look at the Gandalf/Balrog diorama.
