Re: Rogue

Yes! We know nothing will ever be perfect but we'd like a statue to get close to the ones we see in the pictures on Sideshows site, but from the pictures i've seen so far this one gets no where near it imho.

People have paid $300 of their hard earned money for this and shouldn't have to have a statue with bad paint sitting in their collection. Let SSC sit on this and then maybe they will get these factories to pull their finger out and start making these statues look like they should. It will never change unless we as collectors start voting with our wallets.

I thought that when you did QC inspections during the middle of the run and at the end. I'm really puzzled as to how they do QC checks in the factories. I'm sorry but perfection can be obtained with these statues. I know that we all remember this statue and think that we would all agree that this statue is painted way more intricate than this Rogue PF. We got perfection with this piece....

Rogue's counterpart...

I do remember the EX on this one having a little bit of a wandering eye, but nothing like this debacle. I only ask and expect perfection from Sideshow because that what we use to get LONG TIME ago, and these photos prove that thing can a should be different. Looking at these photos is the main reason why I can't just give Sideshow a pass on something like this. I know that most just talk a good game when it comes to Sideshow and there product, but I've been banned for forums and Bowen Designs website, because I'm gonna tell how it is and will not give passes for an inferior product. Not because I have to bust my butt for $300, but just the principle of the matter.

Perfection is required and is expected. At least that's the motto for my collection.

Re: Rogue

is this some of the tween talk? This goes on way too much and there is no need for it.

And for the record, at least Bowen would come on a forum and discuss the issue.

You're definitely right about that and he would come on and man up for his company's wide spread blunder.

I agree. If the market was different (Bowen statues retain their retail value) and if the price of Bowen's was not $200+ for most FS (smaller than 1/4 non-mixed media sculptures), I can see many people collecting more Bowen and less Sideshow.

Re: Rogue

Some of us do go out of our way for these "collectibles." Its a hobby and not a necessity so we should expect better and certainly have the right to compain about poor quality.

I packed my lunch all week
I made my girlfrind pay all week
My sister flew in to surprise the family and she treated me out
I put some items up on ebay to compensate
I didnt buy the new transformers movie
Skipped out on a kids bday party
Stayed home all friday waiting for UPS

Some of the sacrifices I make for this hobby. Hence, I expect my Rogue to be "worth it" and she isnt right now.

Re: Rogue

Looks like IC got a good one. Congrats, Incurable! :duff

This comment seems like we are happy settling on something that still isnt good but at least it isnt as bad as it could be.

While better than most I still dont think its a "good one" The eye shadow still bugs me a lot. Even on one that looks "better". Her eyes are bad too. Just not bad in the cross eyed kind of way. Bad in that they arent looking in the right direction.........

Can anyone tell me why in gods name all of these have rogue watching a hot air balloon sail by? She isnt supposed to be staring into the sky.... Look at the picture on SS website on the normal head. I mean forget that the eyes look in the same place on this "GOOD" one but they arent even painted to look in the right direction. Its a huge flaw!

Even the EX head is a lot different in this respect as shes looking like directly up on the EX. I mean forget paint that looks bad or even the cast on the face or the hair. But why isnt anyone talking about how this doesnt match the proto either. Im wondering if its because the head doesnt fit with the jacket but the EX one in picture straight on differently looks like her head on on a different pitch/angle.

:slap

Uh...no. I'm not settling on anything.

My comment is simple: I'm congratulating a friend on receiving a Rogue that doesn't appear to be as bad as some of the others we've seen.

Re: Rogue

I agree that Incurable Collector's looks pretty good. It's about as good as most of the stuff that I've received from Sideshow lately.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but all these photo examples of better paint jobs are heavily photoshopped using dodge and burn?

What does that have to do with the positioning of the eyes? That's the reasoning of the posting of those photos, or are you saying that I photoshopped the eye location in all those photos...:lol Plus all those statue had great paint jobs regardless.

But if you need to know...

The first and last are just reg shots and the middle three has some photo shop work...good "eye" though...:)

Bowen statues retain value? Are u sure about that? :D

Re: Rogue

This gives me hope that the one arriving here isnt gonna be a goggle eyed $10 whore.

But then Ive never been that lucky

Its sad that you guys think this is acceptable, but I guess general apathy occurs when you see how bad most of these turned out. For the rest of us, demand better.

There's a general saying

Fool me once, shame on you
Fool me twice, shame on me

I'm not giving SSC a pass on this one. Not for this price especially. They probably made a 200% margin on this half assed effort. If the replacements are just as bad, I'll tell them where to shove it.
