Re: Rogue PF

I, for one, hope the headband is fabric and wire but only time will tell, I guess.

I'm also hoping it's fabric... not only because it won't be damaged as easily but also because I don't really like the flow of it...
her hair is going the other way than the headband... hope to be able to re-position it :)

Just took another peek at the hi-res pics Barbarian posted on page 81 and it would appear that the headband is definitely sculpted. You can clearly see that the headband's been painted and everything.

Re: Rogue PF

I got 2 account, made specifically to order a second Hulk Comiquette Ex. But some of these items are tempting business venture? To flip or not to flip, Hehe.

Sell me one for retail with free shipping and I won't tell sideshow.

Re: Rogue PF

Don't see what the problem is. It's going to only drive every other piece out there to a higher value, so everyone who owns it will feel good about themselves.:dunno

IMO...If a person buys these statues for their value, or potential value, in order to feel good about themselves or justify their purchase then they need to stop spending money on this hobby and seek counseling.

:slap counseling? I think some people buy it for both reasons, for investment and collecting?:wave

Re: Rogue PF

If they are buying these statues in order to feel good about themselves then yes they need counseling for self-esteem issues.

If you buy these as some sort of investment...you're better off investing in something more profitable and with a better turnaround on your money. :cuckoo: :wave

I am going to be blunt here and do not take offense. If you are collecting these for an investment, you are pretty dumb.

You should buy for enjoyment and pieces you like, not to flip. This market is way more volatile then stocks or some other investment option because most of these collectibles are not worth much more than retail a year later or even beyond that.

Your money would better served else where. Of course there are going to be the random collectibles that are worth a lot but you are not guaranteed that is going to be worth the same in a year or two.

Hey I never said I collect statues as investment? I merely said some people collect for both reasons? If a statue retains the same value, then that's okay with me.:lecture:panic:

Re: Rogue PF

Even when these do appreciate, like Doom PF, you stand to make a whole $1000.00 :panic:

Wow!

Not exactly gonna retire on that :lol

And Doom is the exception to the rule, generally you might make a couple hundred bucks here and there. You'd have to have dozens of these to make any real investment and profit.

I know that is why I told you not to take offense. I am just pointing out for the people who collect purely for investment and get no enjoyment from it.

Re: Rogue PF

Collect for the fun and enjoyment of the hobby.

If you happen to make a little money later on then that's a bonus.

Very true, IMO. The investment is for the short term only...like King said;
Not exactly gonna retire on that :lol

Re: Rogue PF

Some people do invest in this hobby in the sense that the profits made are used to help fund the hobby itself. But realistically, how much can one really make through secondary sales? Usually around $50 to $100 tops per item. And you need to put down lots of cash to get the item.

If you expect to make it into a business, then you should start your own online store or comic cornerstore. And even then, it isn't exactly a lucrative business. Most of these guys are fans first and businessmen second. Having said that, if ur the owner of hot toys, that's a different story. But for every hot toys, there are half a dozen struggling toy companies out there desperately trying to survive.

So moral of the story: buy to enjoy owning the collectible If you make a profit on a resale, that is just another secondary aspect of the hobby that provides enjoyment.
