I owned the Medi Yoda at one time...I sold it because it wasn't Yoda to me.

While I'm reluctant to buy any Medi figure to honest.. the Medi Yoda at least captures the vibe of the original puppet. That gives it more cred as far as I'm concerned.

Still gonna wait for the eventual (inevitable) HT version.

I don't know if it's because I never owned the Medi Yoda, but I can't stand it.

Nathan's work on it is great, but nothing'll change my opinion of the foundation.

It's not perfect, but in my eyes it's the best 1/6 yoda to date, and with Nathan's work on it I am more than happy with it.

Yeah, I have them side by side and the Medi really "feels" like Yoda more than the SSC, even though the SSC is good too. The Medi has a "mood" or vibe more than the SSC which is pretty neutral and Yoda;'s def about magic.

There are similarities. Looks like Sideshow's was an Andy Bergholtz sculpt.

yea something like that. When first saw it I was like "man im in!" until I saw the price it's an amazing piece though.

WOW. That Yoda makes any other Yoda available look like a steaming pile of ****! Although, for the cost of that custom, I guess I'll content myself with SSC's pile of ****, but if SSC had made something like that, they probably could have commanded a HT price for this figure, even at HT inflated new price point!

So the specs say Yoda should come with a lit and unlit light saber but the pic only shows the lit.
Are we going to assume the unlit one will come with it,and if it doesn't are we going to rage like it's a missing display stand?

The blade could be removable.

I respect differing opinions and all, but I'm having a hard time taking this seriously. It's not a perfect representation of the 1/1 puppet, but it's unmistakably Yoda.

I think he doesn't understand how the Medicom version has more cred because it somehow "captures a vibe" of the Yoda puppet. I don't really care for the medicom VCD because it creeps me out just looking at it. Yoda didn't creep me out, so I guess it doesn't "capture the vibe" for me. It looks sickly and the eyes are sorta "asian" (??? I don't get it, but that's my impression from the figure). Instead of "puppet Yoda", it's more like "evil, psycho ventriloquist dummy Yoda, that will come to life and murder people in their sleep". SSC isn't perfect, but it doesn't send a shiver down my spine, either...

Thank you Khonsu. Exactly. Sideshow's is nearly a dead ringer of ESB Yoda. It's not perfect, but subtle changes would get it there. How it fails to capture the 'vibe', while a version that resembles a caricature (at best) succeeds is beyond me.

I'd say Yoda was intense in that scene. But this:

I don't really like either version that much to tell y'all the truth. See - where devil76 says the SSC one is almost money.. nah, I don't agree.

The Medi has a sunken looking face & long neck - don't like that. However, the head has that wrinkled 'rubbery' (?) I guess look to it.. which resembles the puppet. The SSC one, has the wrong shaped face & less detail to it I feel.

Look - it's all relative to what we see personally, as always..
