I stopped buying sideshow star wars 12" because for me they started lacking..........but this figure looks awesome and I am going to get it, and I am also gonna get Old Ben to go with him, I am very very excited for the release of these two figures!

Wow, there is still hope this thread will get back on track.

Maybe we can set up a kiddies thread, much like the daunted kiddies table at Thanksgiving so some of the others have a place to throw food at each other. LOL.

The majority of the pictures look terrible, I hope we get some less distorted shots soon.:monkey4

I think that actually pays off for it though, I'm impressed by distorted images, I'm sure I'll be mesmerized when it's in hand.

I can see the figure is nice under all that bad photography but taking pictures for the most part in our digital age should be a fairly easy task, tri-pod, decent lighting, flash off, and macro on.

Well it depends on your ambition I suppose. I know some people who buy a camera and occassionally use it but it just sits collecting dust half the time.

Can't wait to get Luke - looks to be the best representation of the character we've had from any company.

And just a suggestion to those that might like to troll here - if the majority of the people disagree with you, you might try be a bit more politic in your posts. Alienating other members leads to anger, anger leads to...

Well, you get it.

Yea, I dont even own a tripod for my camera. I actually think it's good for Roy to share the pictures and even bow to our requests. Who cares that his pictures aren't up to archive quality or something. Pictures are pictures.

I agree here. Would anyone rather people not post pictures? And who decides if they are sub-par in that case?

Enjoy the pictures! It whets the appetite!

Besides, I'd rather see a million bad pictures than read one more post about Medi-whatever and SS inadequacies.

Ok, maybe I was too tough on Roy, it's great that he took the pictures but come on I rather see two great pictures that 100 bad ones. It's great to see everyone contributing but I guess I would have preferred the first pictures of this figure to better represent the figure.

I can't wait to see Wor-Gar's. His are usually a more accurate representation. Un-futzed, Futzed...

and Nudie pictures. :monkey3

I get that, but it isnt even OUT in the US yet, and probably won't be until some time next week. Any pictures are good pictures until it's mass release.

Well, you get it.

There, post fixed :lol

Thanks to the folks that support my gesture of sharing and to those folks complain to the quality of pictures...I am not angry at all. The pictures I took late last night I know was in terrible lighting quality. Since I have a quick break out of those logistic works on local 501st, I don't have any time for tripod, lighting and even detail focusing.

I will have time by this Friday night for a nice set-up but by then I believe folks in US will received this figuren and I can't wait those nicer photos come out from you folks.

I must say the final head sculpt looks better than the prototype images.

It's always top notch to see high end photos when you're waiting to find out how it looks, but it's always good to have something in hand to see while you wait to get yours to comfort you or warn you of how it turned out. I'd have cancelled Legolas if not for in hand pictures, I was relieved to see Roy's Jabba shots to know he came out fantastic. Everyone takes pictures to show their enjoyment of a figure but not everyone works for pro photographer quality, but every photo accross the range has a value of some sort.

I know the thread is back on track, and I really don't want to derail it again, but just a few words to chavez.

I have kept out of the debate (and I try to steer clear of any Medi vs. SST debate) because it's just a waste of time and energy that generally achieves nothing. Especially when people feel the need to re-state their positions over and over again without bringing any new arguments (in a civilized manner).

Chavez, we get how you feel about SST 12" figures.
Some of us, maybe even a lot of us agree with some of the points you have made. Many here have brought up the subjects of the long arms on the short figures, the less-than-stellar quality and tailoring on some of the clothing, the mellon-head syndrome on some of the figures, the hard plastic used on the boots (just to name a few)... we've been there, we've done that. We have started entire threads to point out things we wish SST to address. Some of them will be addressed, hopefully, like a new body (partnership with HT). Some probably won't. It's great that we point out issues we have with these figures, that is the second best way of getting a company to take note. The best way is to vote with your wallet (which you are doing, so bravo!).
But (and it is a BIG but), your posts are not being very helpful.
If you go back and read how most of your posts are phrased, you'll notice (hopefully) that they come off sounding a bit, shall we say, derogatory?

So if you really want to cause an impact on the way SST are doing things, by all means exercise your right to criticize, but do it in an informative way.

Here's your first two posts on this thread:
God damn!!! those big SSC hands.

No,but they need to fix that sh%# FOR REAL

And
Now see, they suckered you guys into buying it with that collar up
bullsh%#.

Dude, that is most certainly not constructive criticism.

So if you want to get banned, fine, go ahead and keep up your posts. It won't be our loss, judging from posts as the ones above.
But if you really want to express your opinion and have an impact on what SST does in the future so that perhaps you too may enjoy more affordable SW 12" figures, do so in a more constructive matter and stop alienating all the fans here.

There, that's it from me on the subject.

Sorry for taking the thread back off-topic.
