I opened mine up last night and I love it!
The body is fantastic and has great superhero proportions (I really hope Sideshow changes it's mind and uses these bigger beefier arms for Supes).
I like the face sculpts, the grimacing face is a little too far into Simon Bisley territory but I don't mind it that much, I'd be great if future Batman face plates were compatible with this release for more display options, or they release an accessory set with new face plates and gadgets for this release in the future. :lecture
They did a stubble color wash that when combined with the flesh color can look a little greenish, the only face plate of mine that I notice it on is the grimace one and what's there is minor and doesn't bother me (looks even more like Bisley's art). The two others don't have the greenish tinge and look great.
Overall it's a fantastic figure!

I actually like the eyes as is. I understand why so many don't, but I'd agree with Darklord Dave that it's not a mistake. It's an unpopular design choice. In my opinion, they give him an almost squinting appearance which changes depending on lighting and angle, so I quite like it. When the eyes are full white, I find them distracting... almost alien. Especially when placed in a lit cabinet like mine.
The only 2 disappointments I have with the figure are 1) the shoulders are far too round and bulbous. 2) the lack of nose in the face sculpts. My face sculpt colors are perfect, and although I'm not a fan of the angry expression, it passes when needed. I think all of them would benefit from a little bit of nose like they did in the pre-production version.
But those are minor for me, I'm super Bat-Happy!

I dont think the "mistake" was referring to Sideshow had planned something else and goofed. The peeps are saying it was a mistake to make that choice. Of course its a matter of opinion. Btw, I know people are looking at the early proto type that shows some of the nose and wish SS should have gone with that. But, If they had, they would not have been able to do switchable face parts. That part would have been broken off during molding or casting.

:exactly: IMO this has to be one of the figures, especially for Bats, that you really don't need to customize. Not to say he doesn't look better from the customizing, but I could be satisfied either way.

IMO I like having the faint white in the eyes that SSC did. In certain lights and poses it really adds depth and gives the sculpt more presence

Especially the angry look

I think the shorter ear sculpt excels from the smaller eyes

For those who haven't received him and are expecting him, don't feel that you have to rush out and try to customize it to get the best results, but don't worry about it as SSC has done an excellent job right when you take him out of the box.

Of course, it's your choice. But why ruin something that has been done beautifully by factory standards if you aren't comfortable with modding, painting or customizing

Either way you enjoy it.:lecture
