Though I nominated the Hellboy as 'PF of the Year', Bats comes in quite close.

I voted for him. To me his presence beats Superman, his size beats every other PF especially at the $400 price and well...He's the Goddamn Batman.

Although I love my Batman PF he still isn't quite as good looking to me as Superman PF. The Cape on Shoulders Head on Cape really is the only thing that took this out of the running. If he had been set up like Superman with cape over portrait it would have sealed the deal.

I agree. No way Batman is PF of the year. Too many problems outta the box. The run of Ex's were nowhere near their prototype. Nowadys, the regs look better than the exclusives. PF of the year honor should go to Superman, Red Skull, Hellboy, or Harley Quinn. Prolly missed some, but Batman? C'mon....

Sure, Bats PF had some issues. Still, the positives about this PF outweighs the negatives, in my opinion. When I look at him, next to all my other PFs, CQ and MQs, he is just a towering and impressive statue. A real attention stealer. Oh, he definitely qualifies for the run of best of 2014.

Totally agree guys also for me, having the option of a new cape also breaths life into this piece for me as I can constantly go between mixed media and sculpted with the capes. The sculpted cape for me was one of the small issues I had with the Bats PF...some parts of it, notably the raised point of the cape over his right shoulder, just looked a little daft and it proper bugged me but the sculpted cape does give it presence which I like. My mixed media cape was something I've wanted since the day I received the PF so I could have the option to pose it how I liked...so Daniels custom cape was a genius creation for which I most grateful to him for sharing...thanks to his cape I definately see this PF as one of Sideshows best of the year...

Yea, Sideshow released a lot of shocking piece this year but on a whole, I think the majority was more good than bad. Like you say, despite its flaws and QC issues, those who received a decent Apocalypse PF got a really cool piece and of course the Hellboy PF went down a storm!!! Then you got Gladiator Hulk and Red Sonja which turned out nice

I left it off on purpose... my Bat PF spends the majority of its time in his shipper due to lack of space...as does most of my collection!! so I quickly took him out to assemble his new cape to see how it would look and couldn't be arsed to put his belt on He's now back in the box

I'm sorry but a statue with as many issues as this had... form-unfitting fabric, 10 o'clock shadow, super-sized 1/4 scale... I wouldn't even nominate for PF of the Year. It's a good statue, and that's about all it gets from me.

Superman is huge but his sculpt made sense to me and the proportions were very good. I had issue with Bats because he looks bigger than superman. His thighs and calves make him look like Mr Olympia. Still a great PF but not perfect imo

Bats should look more beastly than Sups. Sups is an alien. His strength can not be completely reflected in his musculature. Otherwise he'd be gigantic. Bats proportions were not even on the problem radar IMO. I love SS take on the two sculpts. Shows how very different they are. Bats has to train like Mr. Olympia.
