A Lee Batman would :rock

That pic looks great to me. What's appalling is the lack of respect for artists around here.

Why we must deal with these philistines is an affront to all right and proper reason. There ought to be a law. :lecture

:exactly: Jim Lee practically was the one wholly responsible for "bringing" back the Batman comics like how Christopher Nolan did for Batman on screen. I know for myself and a whole lot of my friends who stopped following comic books for a while, when all of a sudden, we hear this news about Jim Lee drawing Batman, and it was like a dream come true. Ever since that, everyone else certainly upped the ante as Lee draws, arguably, one of THE BEST Batman out there.

:lecture Agreed.

Jim Lee is the MAN!!!!

:goodpost::hi5:

It get pretty sad when people gang up and put down his art. He's definitely one of the most iconic comic book artists of our time.

I'm just hoping this doesn't release Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday while I'm at work, or I may need to excuse myself to the restroom with severe stomach pains

While I respect Lee since I've seen him draw and the guy is amazing at what he does, he didn't bring anything "back". Batman was one of the top ten selling books before he got on it and has been for decades. What he, and Jeph Leob I might add, did was make it "The" hot book for 12 consecutive months. The pairing of Lee, a 80's-90's comic icon, who hadn't done a monthly book in years and one of the best writers at the time was amazing.

But that was nothing new for Batman if you think about the history of the book. Every top artist has at one time or another taken his hand at Batman.

Re: Official Sideshow Batman PF

I hope they don't drop the PO at some silly time for us peeps in the UK I need's me a Batman to go with the Joker & since I have a baby sleep is a must these days instead of a luxury ;) lol

Well said.

I like Lee's Batman art (can't really stand his X-Men stuff), but there is a 90's comic quality to it which I have never liked. There's too much Batman art that I like more to be able to overlook it.

Jim Lee is the MAN CALLED JIM LEE!!!!

Fixed.

Hmm. Trying to reason with Jim Lee fanboys? :1-1:

Love me some Jim Lee. I have all his bat books. However, the Neal Adams/ Denny O' Neil run comes first for me as far as being the run that turned Batman into the character we know today. They are the ones who turned him away from the campy Bats of the 50s & 60s. That and Englehart/Rodger run on Detective is the Batman I grew up reading.

I would even have to give Frank Miller the nod, before Jim Lee, for giving us the Batman we know today. His work overall is far more important than Lee's on the Batman character IMHO. Lee does draw a nice Bats though. I'll give you that. However, the foundation for this character we know now was poured by the others I mentioned above.
