Yeah, what was that other line? You remember. It was from an awesome movie series, really cool characters. But the fans withered away and we didn't even end up with the core characters.

Hope this doesn't happen with JOE.

And if you didn't figure it out. I was talking about Lord of the Rings..

That could've been Indy, Bond, Hell Boy, Highlander... etc. :lol It's really sad just how many lines that describes. :(

You don't ready anyone else's posts do you? :lol

So what ever happened to those lines, sorry I didn't get into those 1/6 since I try to collect only Marvel, SW and GI JOE.

I hear that they just ended, what was there major mistakes...

Bond had a great run. Lots of version of Bond were made as were other characters.

Highlander is said to be Sideshows biggest flop ever. No Connery rights was a nail from the start.

Indy, poor line planning on Sideshows part.

POTA, too much too soon. But even the nice HT versions are said to not have sold well.

LOTR, the hype of the source material wore off IMHO, cause the figures were great, except for that horrible painted cape making theif Faramir.

:lol:lol:lol

The only one of those lines I had experience with was LOTR. Well, My first experience was with the Platoon line. Of course, I didn't get all I wanted in that line either but I understood that as it wasn't nearly as popular as LOTR.

I just hope that the line doesn't lose it following. I mean I am not buying every release just to keep it alive but I am getting the ones I want.

Sideshow likes to make their customers suffer from abandonment issues. Just ask the Kurgans. :(

Unfortunately some of the smaller characters or "stock" GI Joe characters may end up as "composite" figures. I like Breaker or Zap or some of the other guys like Doc, but honestly, those guys came super light in terms of gear and got limited to no exposure in the TV series. Even Shipwreck, who got tons of exposure, was fairly limited gear wise.

I suspect we will see the most popular male characters, and if SST wants to unveil some kind of interesting female Prometheus grade body, we might see some females. Again, wish SST would just license the HT female True Type in that case. Wishful thinking, but I wish it would go that way.

As I said to Justin in the SW boards, that would price Joes right out of the hands of a majority of their collectors. Essentially, you'd be adding $40 to the figures price by doing so and making the female Joes, who'll already be less popular due to their sex, an even harder sale as the most expensive figures in the line. If you feel the need to upgrade, pick up a female TT and swap them over after you get them in hand. For me, I'm fine with the current price and would be perfectly satisfied even if SS released them on the female Buck.

For the other figures, I think Flint will be the tell-all. If he comes with a large amount of kit, like both SS and Duke (who didn't have much gear either but the SS versions came loaded!) I won't have any worries about Sideshow padding the "less popular" figures likewise. So long as it's practical. Hell, even if it isn't, it can always be added to the parts box for another bash down the road.

I would imagine Flint will come packed with a ton of stuff just like the rest of the figures.

You are satisfied, the possibility exists that there are other portions of the consumer base who might think like me. For sure? No. Maybe? Sure, maybe.

If not new female Prometheus has been made and no costs have been incurred, that's something to factor in. Im saying SST should just license a clearly popular body type that produce their own ( unless the shameful image of the floppy SST Indy ROTLA doesn't ring a bell with anyone)

What will price people out is if many don't like the SST body type if they make a new female and replace it with a HT female TT anyway.

Market forces tell the tale, TT's, male or female, do well on the secondary market. They have made dealers parting out HT completely viable ( that was not always true Pre True Type.) The SST Prometheus is not as well received ( no many are going to dig and hunt and scour for that Prometheus body, they just aren't that hard to find loose in any format)

HT makes a body type that is generally more well received and has a stronger secondary market value. HT and SST have a relationship, why not use it?

The above remarks lead me to believe you don't own any of Sideshow's Joes. The Pro is considerably improved from it's initial release with Indy. And with these newer releases, there will be further improvements. Here and there, in an ES in the thousands, you might have an exception, but I have yet to receive a lose Pro.

I did with Storm Shadow in his legs but thank god for muscle bodies :lecture

Nam love this bodies as well, trust me *smirks*

I think it would be just the opposite. Retailers don't part out Sideshow figures because the people who want the subject matter would rather buy the whole figure vs. parts to just build their own (At $70-$90 in most cases that's the cheaper route). As for HT, at their higher prices, retailers make more money on parting out the figures than having them sit in the shops trying to sell for the higher prices.

The reason I question whether or not you own SSC's Joes is because you said you feel that they should come with more accessories. I'm hardpressed to find figures that come with as much quality gear at SSC's prices.

The Pro is the worst body ever. I just bought a bunch of Soldier Story ones to port them over to.
