One of the things I'm wondering about re: price jumps and the reasoning behind them aside from inflation is the different material used to actually make the figures more pliable. Definitely different from the hard rigid material used for past figures.

What I love the most on this figure is how the hair was done. I definitely wouldn't own this is she had rooted hair...too much like a Barbie once that line is crossed. The pliability of her hair is perfect for the sculpt imho.

Its not just inflation its the cost of oil. Petroleum crisis in 74 pretty much wiped out the original 12" Joes...
Price of plastic is going to get ridiculous.

Just had a brain wave... put a couple rubber gromits on top of the neck so the head sits slightly higher on my Troopers & have baroness off her stand... solves the height problem on my shelf?

James Kavanaugh Jr was at the UK Joe con & it was interesting hearing him talk about Hasbro & plastic prices.

Very solid point. I forgot about that bit of history. The real reason we had to play with 3.75 figures instead.
