Why the ninja/commando debate? Snake Eyes is both.

Heck, ninjas are basically Japanese commandos anyway.

Anyways for those actually getting the figure. Anyone else thinking of using the gun this time? I've got the others holding the more "ninja" type weapons so I may use the gun.

Ninjas with guns aren't ninjas. At least for me anyway.

Ninja = no gun

Ninjas have no honour and will use anything to achieve their objective, so guns are fine by me.

I've got the green one using the Uzi, though. This guy will definitely be using his sword...

Ordered - 80's inner child screamed NINJA!!!!

Looking at the cards, in the orignal 82-94 run Snakes Eyes was never listed as a ninja. He is a Commando for all the figures except the Ninja Force, and for those he is a Covert Mission Specialist.

Character development?

At least Snake Eyes was a ninja before they saturated the eighties. So it's cool. :)

Now that we have our first figure that originated in the Venom vs. Valor line I wonder when we'll start seeing Sigma Six or Rise of Cobra figures.

I really doubt it, but one or two might be cool...

Not really. Revenge of the Ninja (being the most popular of the 80's ninja movies) hit in '83. Dr. Venom and our first hint at Snake Eyes' ninja past didn't appear until Issue 10, also in 83. When Ver.2 Snake Eyes hit in '85, around the same time American Ninja was released, the market was well saturated with the whole "ninja" thing. :lol

I don't know how many times I watched the American Ninjas as a kid. The training centre shot (I'd post pics but can't on this computer) with all the different coloured ninjas was just awesome. I always liked seeing dead ninjas on the ground since then.
