I see a little bit of Robert Mitchum

Is it Thursday yet? SSC should just just let me subscribe to one of each like Matty does for MOTUC :lol

I think thats a good idea, where people who collect a certain line can be rewarded by supporting SS by automatically having one added to the shopping cart. But I guess that would present another whole set of issues, with cancellations and such

As I understand it, the shroud on the revolver's barrel helps weigh the front down to reduce muzzle climb and recoil. Looks intimidating but it's all about better control and accuracy.
Also I suppose if he runs out of bullets he can just beat Vipers to death with it.

But it also makes the weapon a little more front-heavy. So any benefit in terms of accuracy it has with the added weight will, for some, be negated by the fight to hold it up.

Edit - But I am sure there are other benefits to the added metal, such as disipating heat from the barrel faster.

I still get an Inglorious Basterds/Dirty Dozen vibe from this pic. I love it.

Yup. That's one of the things making it hard to resist, even though I have no real connection with the character.

I ordered the first two comic volumes today, so that won't be an issue for long.

Also...

You're in for a treat then. While the later issues/characters made GI Joe what it is today one thing that's cool about the first 10-12 issues is that there's literally just about eight guys that make up the entire team, and they are so badass they just hop on a plane whenever Cobra turns up and drop in to kick their asses.

It harkens back to those old school films like DD or Uncommon Valor where a handful of special forces veterans take on an entire army.

It's a shame they don't make military comic books like that anymore.

Or at least, where a group of scumbag criminals and murderers take on an entire army of enemy officers :D

I love Dirty Dozen and haven't watched it in ages. Need to see it again.

Excellent movie, that. Perfect for a Sunday afternoon.

Definitely one of my favorite ensemble cast war movies (or ensemble cast movies in general). Two of the great all-time bad-ass movie icons--Bronson and Marvin--together is really something.

True. :) I was thinking along the lines of that early comic issue where...

...the Joes are chasing Cobra across the Middle East and come across an Iranian border patrol who tries to determine their intentions. There's a Mexican stand-off and suddenly everyone opens fire and they slaughter the Iranians. One Joe asks who fired first and another smiles and says something to the effect of "Who knows?"

Shockingly un-PC for a pro-military American comic by today's standards. :)
