Based on history it wouldn't surprise me if SS released a second run of these. Might take a while, hopefully by then HT would have done something

Brilliant figure. Hot Toys will have trouble topping this one.

Well, after much b*tching & soul-searching, I came to the firm realization that I will always be a whore for Star Wars... So I bought this from Popcultcha, thankfully right before they jacked the price up. It just came today & I must say, there is a lot to like about this guy. Overall, nice effort from SSC! :clap

Yeah I think once you have it, it's easy to see how good of a job Sideshow did with this. And I agree momaw, it looks tough to top. They could add the harpoon gun, improve the head sculpt/paint, and have a more reasonable price. But overall Sideshow has done a very nice job. Nice pictures too btw!

Yes, there are always nitpicks here & there. I dig that the holster is held on by a good magnet & easily detached for a Battle of Hoth appearance; however, a dorky oversight was not including a leg strap for the Dagobah landing scene, especially when the holster has the actual eyelet where this would feed through :lol

Yeah that should've easily been included in my opinion. I know it wasn't on the whole time, but since it has the loop for it, it could've been included but removable. At least for me it's not too big a deal as it still looks great. [emoji106]

Wonder how hard it would be to achieve a wet look on this suit to be like the arrival in ESB. Maybe something like the future shine that was used on trooper armor to make it look glossy. That could react to the material though and ruin the jacket LoL. Add a little blackwash and dirt for the swampy look. That would be a pretty awesome.

Gloss Testors may work better. If anyone wants to send me theirs I'll give it a try.

;)

No problem. That'll all be fixed in V2 ! That's what normally happens right Wor-Gar..

Certainly that's why they are letting the waitlist build. I suspect another "batch" to be made available sometime next month after the Con and likely shipping from HK to SS in August for delivery in mid to late September.

Can't wait for him to become available again ! They should be able to manage a few improvements.

As TonTon above mentioned, the waitlist has been closed & Luke is now "Sold Out"; however, that doesn't mean they won't revisit the figure, as Sideshow has been doing more of lately. Problem is, when Sideshow decides to re-issue a figure, they have a tendency to not "give with both hands" - They'll make some (usually minor) improvement to the figure itself but not include accessories which came with the original, making the re-issue more of a "Slim" edition. The latest Vader & Boba Fett come to my mind. I suppose this has a two-fold purpose - To make more sales off of folks that missed the original & to tempt owners of the original with the "improved" figure. I guess they can also appeal to hold-outs & make the PR claim that the integrity of the original release has been persevered by not offering the additional accessories... At least when Hot Toys revisits a figure, like TDK Joker, they will offer nice accessories, generally unique to each release.

:lol It still is such a weird release/over-reaction to how they made too many X-wing Luke figures. It's like they made 5,000 of those and 3,000 sold but the rest sat around, so for this release they made 500.

He's very nice. Lots of delicate parts to the flight suit. Both sculpts are good. The head portrait is much better in hand and the likeness is strong in my opinion. The helmeted look is the better of the two for me.

Three parts of the vest fell off and the belt came unglued on two pouches that were missing magnets right out of the box.
Going to try a dagobah Luke look.

Great photo, Hokie! :clap

BTW, the waitlist reservation I placed on this figure back in May was about to convert to an order, but since I ended up just getting it from Popculcha, I cancelled it (and thus am missing out on the folded gloves accessory).

I hope this will be good news for the next guy on the list. :wink1:

Pjb I'm hoping to be the next guy lol... when did you get on the wailisr
