Quick little review of the pros and cons of the figure.
Pros:
- Figure looks outstanding on the shelf, really stands out and to me is the winner over X-wing Luke, which also looked terrific on the shelf (this head sculpt is much better to me--I replaced the X-wing Luke head with the HT head).
- Jacket is very nicely tailored and made, sharp details
- Boots are a bit too dark but nicer than the Hoth figure boots, I know most initially figured they would just re-use all the common parts from that figure.
- Helmet head sculpt looks pretty good, about as good as the prototype, and paint seems fine. Interesting that Sideshow chooses to show tiny pink dots across the skin as opposed to Hot Toys that chooses mostly tan freckling type of dots.
Cons:
- Too tall! Height looks to be the same as my HT Han figure which is on the same plane. I have Luke displayed with Yoda so it doesn't matter in the immediate detolf shelf, but still.
- Holster magnets all fell off while futzing so I just took the holster off.
- Has a bit of that frumpy proportions that Sideshow figures sometimes have, arms not tight to the body
- They really did make a regular and exclusive version, so I paid near full price from popcultcha and didn't get all the accessories
- That they didn't make the head sculpt like X-wing Luke where he could hold the helmet, really a shame as that can be a cool look
- Unhelmeted head sculpt, not sure I see myself ever using this, just came out kind of creepy--I think someone mentioned the bangs look like Dumb and Dumber.
