My apartment burned up a couple of months ago, and most of my collection was either destroyed or heavily damaged.
One of my favorite figs was Snowspeeder Luke:

Even after heavy soaking and scrubbing, the jacket was faded and the helmeted sculpt was blackened and unusable.

I agree. I was shocked when I first saw this pic thinking what if my correction burned.
Wouldn't it normally come under house & contents insurance ? I guess it depends which country you live in.
But for me it's more the fact of not being able to get those older rare figures back.
