That’s a shame; I would have bought one.
Holy ****! What an epic pic! And great work on the customizing.
Yeah, it was super difficult to find decent ref pics on the grappling gun and grenade (there are also two variations of both seen onscreen.) The AT-AT killer grenade is especially hard to see, but the tops of them are clearly visible inside the Snowspeeder cockpits. These are scratch built but are maybe 90% screen accurate.
The bangs were tough. I still plan to lighten the hair a touch, but blondish-brown is very difficult to get looking just right.
The head definitely has issues beyond the Dumb and Dumber haircut, but I actually like my somehwta modded version a bit more than the HT ANH head (though I know that's not saying much.)
Well, as I've said before, that was the plan but Khev banned me for not agreeing with him. Thought it was permanent so I went ahead and finished the gun and grenade (the paint is very intricate) then discovered it was temporary. The whole thing - and the follow-up as well - was so lame it defies words.
I did look into getting them 3D scanned with a view to getting 3D prints to everyone, but it was too expensive.

Guys, perhaps ask DoggieDoc. He has done work exactly like this, and his latest project the Groot Detonoator is epic. (see link)

I know he has recently purchased a 3D printer, and can also cast and paint. A project like this would be right up his alley. However he and wife have just had a baby, so not sure how much time he has.
I think part of the issue is 3D scanning the item. If it's just building a digital model for a printer, then it wouldn't be as expensive as scanning it into a computer.
I'm sure measurements can be made of Talibane's grapple gun and grenade and that can be used to build an accurate 3D model, all Talibane would need is a good digital caliper.
Another detolf shot. That figure is my favorite.
Thanks! It is the SSC Luke Hoth base, and i painted the black base white.cool photo. where did you get the white base at?
some recent pics.
I finally had the chance to make the body swap. Hoth snowspeeder Luke is now on a DX07 body + boots.
what can I say? honestly, this looks terrific in my opinion, it is one of the best figures I have. And the Luke I always wanted (together with Jedi Luke).
IMO, for the Hoth scene, the stock sideshow boots look better, because in the movie they are lighter in color and also look puffy, as if they were worn with some kind of insulation.
But for Dagoba/Bespin, they are okay.
I have to try the DX07 body. I have modded the stock body on mine and the ankles are fragile now.
Actually, both thick and thin boot types appear on Hoth - studio versus location. The thinner Dagobah-style boot (though dusted with white) Luke can be seen wearing in the Hoth hangar (Chewy hug etc) and getting into the Snowspeeder. Incongruously, those same thin boots suddenly become the thicker insulated ones after he crashes (shot in cold location.)
Luke's boots change almost constantly in ESB (maybe four distinct looks for the same boot type): the ones he first arrives on Dagobah with, though thin style, are different to the ones he has in most of the Dago scenes (just like his blaster, which is totally different in the first shots after arrival vs the rest of Dagobah. The arrival blaster is known as the Muppet Show blaster) The straps also change color.
