The problem is that the prices keep leaping up higher but the coupons don't. $20 off a $170 figure is a decent discount. $20 off a $270 figure is not.

especially when they gouge us with shipping costs. i can routinely send a sixth scale of back to SS or anywhere in CA for about $15 but they charge me $22 to ship to me. there is no way they don't have a bulk account so I'm sure they are pocketing a fair amount per figure shipped as well. there is no way they aren't. they disgust me.

Surely the shipping and handling costs inc any packing and the logistics costs.

They don't even offer the monthly $20 off coupon anymore.

But I have zero (0) on order with Sideshow anymore. There was a time when, at any given month, I would have 6-7 preorders running. But now its much cheaper to order via reliable ebay sellers than from Sideshow or any stateside retailer. The net just has too many deals.

The only money Sideshow will get from me direct is for a must-have exclusive... and even those you can get on ebay. I just don't see me ordering from Sideshow anymore except for a final something to burn off my remaining Reward Points.

This figure is that for me, but I only have $70 in RP so it's still a $200 figure and I'm always wondering if the astronomical price will make it sit and be discounted months later like Luke X (though the lackluster head probably contributed to that.) If you could combine RP's and coupon codes it would make a difference, but that's never been the case.

These new sky-high prices force you to run scenarios you never had to run. The overriding problem is that I love SW and I love 1/6, but around $300 for a figure seems like it's finally reached a level where the negative has eclipsed all that positivity. I just can't see a going-forward scenario where I'm paying $250-300 for every 1/6 figure.

Why... why... why did the $270 level have to be on THIS figure?:lol

Sadly I'm starting to get used to the higher prices now, but I still have to draw a line at paying $270 for a figure with such a lackluster headsculpt. I don't care how rare or "exclusive" it might be, or how nice the rest of the figure might be. I just wouldn't be able to buy this without feeling like I had been suckered somehow.

I liked the paint enough on their Indy so I'm still curious with this one. I just brought the X-Wing Luke back out, which is a nice $200 figure--with helmet on (though I use the HT head sculpt, which like the SS one is improved by having the helmet on).

The snowspeeder sculpt, if they make the eyes normal, seems like a better likeness than the Bespin DX Luke, though the hair seems to be made out of wood like the X-Wing Luke.

Yeah, as much as I love the outfit, paying $270 and having to keep the helmet on to cover a lackluster headsculpt (like with the Luke X figure) would really not be cool - at all.

The head on this looks sort of encouraging (as always, SSC has a nice likeness but little else) but yeah - I can see how it could also turn train wreck once in-hand pics show up. The head does have a bit of that "Tim Burton's Big Eyes" look about it currently.

i only want it with he helmet on. i would never bought it if itdidnt have that option. SS head sculpts look pretty bad to me. and the hair....yeah...like wood. ugh....i already regret buying this.....but i needed it. its one of my most wanted figures. oh well. gotta suck it up. but i swear on my son...ill never pay this much again. (outside of a die cast figure)

however i did pay $300 for HT vader...so...i guess it just all about how badly you want something.

The price is very high, we all agree on that. I preordered it since I like how this looks a lot, and despite that price.

The main question about the figure final quality is about the sculpt and paint apps... that's also true.
In my case, I am keeping a spare TTM-22 I had for a possible body swap, and I may use the DX07 head on this. I also have bought DX07 boots, which are articulated and will fit this body better.

But needing all this makes this figure even more expensive! :rotfl

Do you think the lightsaber hilts will be on par with those Hot Toys is now making? (Luke, Rey, Finn)

You would think and hope that $290+ shipped in the US, more than that overseas would include improvements of the more glaring weakness. But history suggests this will still come with a problematic stock body, lousy paint apps, and a glittery lightsaber better suited for a my little pony toy.........but the rest will probably be pretty nice:)

Hey, enjoy your $450 Luke Snowspeeder fig then!:lol

And yeah, I've always found that the SSC weapons are pretty much as good as HT - even SSC's older stuff is close. But that bumpy/glittery SSC lightsaber blade is a little odd - always makes me think Luke broke off an ice stalactite in the Wampa cave and used it.

This is looking very likely to be delayed. I mean he's up on the SSC site as a Dec / Jan 2017 release and we haven't seen the proto figure of him at any of the shows!

They've made all the faulty ones, they just need to make the replacements and pre-destroy the first batch.

yeah, same here. And I hope they can keep that release date.

Yeah fingers crossed. Gonna wait to see the sculpt and if it looks like it does in the pics I think I'll pick this guy up. I'll probably have it displayed with the helmet on, it'd be nice if it came with the snow effect for the base too
