Its the expression on the sculpt, may be its a bit too comic book-ish. Its one i just can't put my finger on but it just looks wrong to me. TBF Duke isn't that great when you look at the sculpts of R&R, Zartan, Stalker and Dusty.

Paint kinda reminded me of Brando in Apocalypse Now.

Yeah but thats why he's exclusive, the plain old everyday Duke is pretty dated now.

There is nothing wrong with Flint or Dukes sculpt. Its the paint job that sucked. Go back on either thread and see the re-paints. Imo, The expression on Zuke just doesnt look right for Duke.

It's the perfect compromise in expression between the stern look we got with the OG Duke sculpt and his hokey 3 3/4" grin:

Even the paint job is not that bad....Sure,its not painted like HT,but they are both still good

I probably had more doubts than anyone about Zuke, until I got him in hand. Scratch that, until I saw Kings pics. He looks more like Duke than Duke. You can almost hear Michael Bells voice just looking at him.

I prefer the original, and the fact that I paid to have the original re-painted might have something to do with that.

I ended up buying two different pairs of boots from Monkey Depot, I'll figure out which ones I like better when they arrive.

I actually ended up with exactly the right amount of links and bullets in the first bag I got, unless some fell into the carpet around here somewhere. . . Second bag should be here any day now. It looks like the $10 versions on eBay dried up and they're only offering the $18 BINs. They probably noticed they were getting a run on them and upped the price. I will just have to wait 'em out.

I spent the weekend gearing him up and and putting everything together. Never had any sort of military figure before. . . too many straps!!!

Funny thing about the ones on Ebay for $10, I bought three sets from three separate sellers (commastore, marketoys, and orgar-2009) when they arrived, they had identical packaging and came from the same exact guy. So there was only one person selling them for $10 with free shipping, maybe he's also the others from HK selling it for more.

why does everyone hate flints head.

As I said in the Flint thread, I don't hate his head, I like it much more in person then I thought I would, but mine has a bad paint rub on his nose from his packaging and since Toy Anxiety is now sold out (I got the last one), I can't get it replaced, so I had to switch. Until I get Flint repainted, he's going to sport the Tom Cruise head.
