Ugh...and the doll dot again? Really Sideshow? Your company knows better!
Which will most likely be over $200.

HT also has it over SSC in terms of production clothing quality (prototypes don't always match production with SSC, though they usually are pretty close with HT), which is a factor for me, and they have the superior base bodies. SSC does accessories pretty well. In terms of paint, I think Joker and this line in general is better suited to some of Sideshow's strengths because they may be able to get away with less realistic paint apps. SSC seems to do a fine job with all the helmeted Star Wars guys that don't need that kind of nuance. But even with Joker, you'll probably get the damn doll dot
And a great sculpt is important of course (I think Trevor Grove is the best damn sculptor in existence, and he does SSC), but without great paint you don't get to see the sculpt's potential. Look no further than this before and after from Skiman's blog:

I still don't get what the big deal is about a "doll dot''? It's just a small white dot, and SS did it on purpose since the other figures don't seem to have it, which only means one thing, SS doesn't have to use that "paint technique", but they did, because they chose to use it. Perhaps SS thinks it makes the figure look more like a comic book character, or maybe....no, I can't think of any other reasons for them to use the "white dot of death" ...
it's definitely weird. comic book artists use it because they are dealing with a two-dimensional medium. there's no excuse for it on a doll (of any kind) since it's the job of a proper gloss on the eyes to catch that light.
bizarre, yes.
I love the comic look but Idk how anyone could so easily drop the DX11.
