The neck is the longer version used with the Pro 1.2. This sculpted one has been used on the recent Joes and GTA Claude.

Since Kenobi is on a shorter Pro 1.1, the standard neck should have been used.

I think it can fixed with a little shaving on the rubber hub inside the head.

Both heads turned out really well, :gah: still got another couple of days to wait

Evilface fantastic pics. Makes me more excited to receive mine. Just great work SS. :)

Thanks for the pics everyone. Evil face is that the most you've ever typed in a single post?

He looks amazing, I'm really happy with how it turned out. The robe looks fantastic I just wish it was a touch lighter. He's a grail and I'm loving everything about him, sweeet.

Thanks for the great look-see, collector guy and evilface---

Looks real good...some of the usual futzing and it looks to be another 1:6 scale hit for Sideshow. It's such a relief to see that this first SW "human" release in quite some time wasn't marred by factory paint apps...it looks great!

If either of you feel like snapping more shots , they'll be appreciated here as the wait continues... thanks again for the pics!

Got mine today as well... I'd echo what EF said. Overall a lot of great points, some minor issues but very nice. I'd like to comment on the lightsaber, but mine doesn't work. It flickers on then off and won't stay lit.

The hilt and blade do seem oversized, so not thrilled with the new design. On it's own it's okayish, but with others it does look odd. I guess I figured the unignited blade would have the same shape and color to the old ones.

The paintwork on the heads is very good... still not quite as much variety of color as we see with other companies, but being a younger face you can get away with that. Definitely the best human paintwork I've seen from Sideshow.

Are you contacting SSC about a replacement?

In case anyone's interested, I blogged about this and the Mythos Obi-wan Statue while drinking a flagon of wine and listening to Iron Maiden. :wave

Nice paint work on the hands

Nice to hear your thoughts gb! Those hands look awesome! Will have to pic some up
It's funny looking back at this thread and all the Ford likeness jokes and the such. Typical Hot Toys nitpick drivel. And in typical fashion, they were all wrong.

Right off the bat, the paint is fantastic and the sculpt very nice. I've held the Rock n Roll exclusive head as the best SS production head but Young Ben here edges it out. Real nice work. And a shame that those stiff statue collectors get shoddy paint while the 1/6 guys have improved significantly over the last year and half or so.

The light-up lightsaber was something I didn't care about in the beginning. In hand it's a kewl feature and I like how they designed the on/off switch. It's looks good. I also like the thicker blade. But now the other sabers don't match.......

The robe is fantastic. Soft, thin and hangs great. The outfit needs the water treatment. Being in the package wrinkles the fauk out of it. The boots are decent, but too glossy. I like the EP2 boots better.

The hands almost perfect. Very nice job on them and you get a lot of them. Time to stock up and swap out some for the other figures.

*pics*

Cool little review EF. Glad to hear this figure is being well recieved. :rock

For those who have this figure in hand. Any thoughts on whether the head sculpt would lend itself to making a Episode 3 Obi-Wan? Or do any of our talented members have any intention to do so?

Obi-wan Blog

Been awhile...

I read that and thought I would respond to you here...

I really enjoyed the blog and was pretty impressed with what you wrote for the official product. You seemed capture the spirit of the character really, really well.

Damn...you never told me you were a "real" writer.:clap

I'll be doing that tomorrow. I think the switch (which is the butt of the hilt) is loose. When lit it looks pretty good; very bright at the base a bit diffuse in the center and bright again at the tip. Not the perfect saber, but quite nice and a good design. Altough personally I think having the switch (like Iron Man figures) on the forearm might have been a better call.

Man now with these pics (thanks) I have to get this on Friday! Love the Exclusive sculpt.
