Well, I'm not sure if Star Ace is going to do anything about this. From their perspective, they've already scrapped one sculpt for this figure in response to the cries of collectors to revise it. Now in hindsight, we'd all have been considerably happier with the original - at least that seems to be the prevailing opinion as I'm reading it.
But they CLEARLY know they have a problem on their hands. This is the first production figure released by Star Ace that I'm aware of that didn't get a starring place on their FB cover photo, and also a post or two with the final promotional photography...and a link to Mr. Crawford's review (which interestingly seems to have been delayed because I doubt that SA is anxious to send him a sample to examine).
While its tempting to be angry and and indignant over this situation, my overriding emotion is just sadness...
This started out as such a promising company having secured a prestigious and popular license, and producing some seriously great stuff. Now, you can almost FEEL them bleeding out right before our eyes.
Crushed between the need to return capital (to say nothing of profit) to the company, and the *Tick-Tock* of their expensive license counting down to zero, they've had to roll the dice of compromise over and over again. You can't hire KA Kim to do every sculpt in your line because of scheduling and, no doubt, cost...but you can't keep revenue coming in with only fair to middling to darn right poor sculpts. And you can't afford the best sculptors when revenue from early releases never materialized (e.g. you can still find Voldemort and a few other in open stock at several retailers years after initial release.
I'm sure many, many businesses suffer this fate, much of which is beyond their control when you take into consideration the realities of running a business generally with all those challenges, and then add to it the need to please THIS lot as well...
Again, this is the path many businesses unfortunately take. It's just sad when its a member of The Family....
