There is an old saying, "you never get a second chance to make a first impression". Companies don't take pictures and produce ads like that until the product has been approved by the licensor. If the end product looks different it is only because the manufacturing process changed the look of the prototype. Collectors need to understand your opinions and suggestions have zero impact on the final look of a product. Some companies may display prototypes at big conventions with a sign that says "pending licensor approval". They usually wont do that unless they are satisfied with the prototype and have a confident expectation it will be approved. If you don't know or understand how that process works try asking some of the artist and art directors involved in producing licensed product. They may not be willing to share specific processes for a given company, but you can get a general idea of how it all goes down.
