This being a prequel to a show made back in the 1960s - and by extension everything made thereafter - canon inconsistencies are inevitable. And that's the primary trouble I have with accepting this show. I really would have preferred a post-Dominion war/post-Voyager coming home sequel series so this stuff could largely be avoided. That being said I'm much more interested in what they're planning for Picard.

You are definitely right. Interestingly this entire show for the most part could have remained completely unaltered aside from some dialogue here and there...instead of Sarek he is Turak and Pike is Captain Anderson and Spock is some other Vulcan and the exact show could be set 60 years after the Dominion War...it would probably have been much more warmly received by more Star Trek fans.

I would definitely agree that it was far from the best Trek episode ever but definitely one of Discovery's best and an all around strong episode. When you consider that with the exception of the original series most Trek shows take around 2 seasons to find their voice I can only imagine that true greatness is on the way from this show.

Fingers crossed!

Even though I like STD personally, it certainly isn't the Trek show I'd have chosen to be made yet. A post DS9/Voyager would have made way more sense as they could have brought back old cast members on occasion. They wont have that opportunity forever as they age more and more. Janeway would have been a nice permanent (or bit part as required) role in such a show. By contrast, they could have made this any time. I agree on Picard, looking forward to that one (something that could also have tied in with a post Voyager/DS9 show)

By the way...Nanjin if you are out there a figure of Airiam at your usual quality would be a top contender for Figure of the Year!!!!
Such an amazing and visually unique character! I am a huge Pike fan but I would not mind if Airiam was the first Discovery figure!

I have been eyeing on Airiam since last year. I was in shock that she sacrificed herself so early.... [emoji24]

HT Arkham Knight Batman or the Iron Spidey are the perfect samples for Airiam.

For the time being, I will muscle all the guys' strength to make a Saru first (spear heading for other Trek aliens)

Airiam sacrifice was amazing! A moment that really captured the greatness of Star Trek! That Saru is a masterpiece...he is one of the best characters in ANY Trek show! I am hoping that it will find its way to my Star Trek shelf! What a work of art!

I have no idea. I'm not the artist. I just orchestrate the projects. I would assume is Zbrush

Nanjin as much as I want TWOK figures or TNG figures I have owned figures in different scales with varying degrees of quality from those series. Having never owned a Discovery figure in any scale of any quality it would be really exciting to get something from that show sooner rather than later. I will, however, trust in your judgement to decide what is best to keep the line moving forward in the right way.

You will see something this year for disco. Trek competes with Trek is not as intense between the TOS/TNG and DISCO.

TOS kills TNG, Voy kills DS9, and vice versa. because the fans for these series overlap significantly.

This is the problem with Trek. Each series competes with each other.

I am flying from HK to LA for a 3 days trip to make sure this plan works out.

News need to be materialize in order to have real meanings.

I will keep my faith alive and wish you great success as always Nanjin! I personally appreciate your passion and know that your efforts are bringing a great deal of joy to others!

Was today's episode the finale?
I liked it. Not the best episode of this season, but it was pretty good. I especially liked that it finally made Burnham more human and likeable.

I watched Star Trek Beyond the other night for only the second time. One hell of a contrast to Undiscovered Country. Man that zippy pace seemed so fresh in the 09 film but the novelty did not last long at all - Into Darkness was terrible, Beyond is no better. And Star Trek '09 didn't stand up with repeat viewings. The cliche is true, they really don't make 'em like they used to.
