The "B" looks great. Annoyed (but not surprised) it's been pushed back... again.... at least it'll be here soon. Now I just need a C to make my collection complete!

Then it's time to make Voyager.

Yea, i did see some out of the box pics of the Enterprise B and the aztec pattern around the bottom of the saucer in blue looked great but, most of this ship looks quite toyish mainly because of the stark white plastic that was used..still, i want it.

I don't like those plug looking things on the bottom of the secondary hull as well, pictured here..

Yeah but I like it more then just having holes with screws showing.

I'm not liking how the lower sensor array on the underside of the saucer doesn't light up, instead it appears they're using it as speaker slots.
You get what you pay for I guess.

Personally, I'd like these more if they did away with the sound effects all together and gave us complete back lit windows like a light kit conversion of a starship model. Or at least give us well hidden buttons that activate only one sound/light effect, like a button to fire torpedoes and another for going to warp etc.

Yeah, the nacelles should be a bit higher or maybe more off to the sides, but I much prefer the Enterprise B retrofit over the original Excelsior version.
Star Trek ships have always had a few issues in design. Such as why does the BOP need to change it's wing formation? Or how the hell do people go from the command module to the engineering module on the Grissom?

I'm not sure if I prefer the Excelsior or the B, to be honest. I love how slick the Excelsior is, but I like the added flair on the B.

I like that they used Christoper Lloyd phrases from Star Trek 3, but the green tinted transparent plastic with lights just looks stupid to me. The only way I'd buy this is if I planed on painting the thing.
Though this gives me hope that a ST 4 Voyage Home BOP is in the works.

A word of warning on the Enterprise B that's starting to show up everywhere now, they screwed up and put the Excelsior logo on either side of the engineering hull.
They said they'll release a correction sticker which wouldn't look nearly as good as the tampo printing it's supposed to have.
I haven't placed an order for one so I'm hoping in the later releases they fix the logo on the sides of the ship.

I did cancel the BOP from BBTS which is tacking forever to arrive and ordered the Enterprise E instead. Aside from the AGT Enterprise D, the HD original Series Enterprise, the Ent. B and the BOP, this is the only Art Asylum/Diamond Select ship that I'm missing. It's scheduled to arrive Feb. 13.

Yea, i recieved my BOP in the mail a few days ago, by far this is the best ship in the line and the sounds are very crisp, only complaint would be that i wish it had a photon tube like seen on the filming model prior to ST:VI in the first pic below, second pic is from VI with no cover which makes this release look more correct, hopefully HMS Bounty version will have extra piece on the photon bay and some landing gear with "HMS BOUNTY" across the bottom side of the ship.

My B will be here within the week i believe and i will not be worried about it having Excelsior on the secondary hull(if it has it) hell, the orginal filming model had it prior to getting the tweaks added to turn it into Enterprise..i will just think of it as Excelsior got a refit and recomissioned and rechristened as Enterprise. XD

Still i requested decals for both my D and B just incase, haven't got back to me yet though.

Chang's BOP

Reason for this could be that the prototype BOP was retrofitted to fire MKVI Federation torpedoes as we saw them being fired from Chang's BOP in STVI or, the part was lost/damaged on the filming model. XD

Interesting, one thing I get from this little screw up is that they got close enough to releasing the Excelsior to get the tampo pattern done. I still hope it's in the works.

The D's neck window decals? I thought they fixed that on the new releases? I'm also missing the neck window decals and sent in a SASE to get my set a while ago and never heard back from them.
Do you have a webpage I can go to so I can once again, request the decals?

Just curious, I did the AMT BOP model a long time ago (back in the early 90's) and noticed there were clear red pieces under the shoulder area just at the base of the neck and assumed they were landing impulse engines and I painted them like they were. Yet on the Diamond ship, these areas do not light up. Am I right in assuming the BOP has landing impulse engines there but Diamond just f'd up and didn't notice this detail?

I also hope they give the HMS Bounty the landing gear, extra decal, new quotes, and the different torpedo launcher. They did just release the ST 3 BOP with Lloyd's quotes, this should also have the photon torpedo launcher extension but they didn't bother with it there.

Clear red pieces(almost like half moon shapes right?)are supposed to be illuminated and i have no idea if they are impulse engines or not, maybe i will get that BOP Owners Manual some day, it looks interesting.

Funny thing about the STIII cloaked variant ship is that it has no cloaking sound effect added i think. XD

The Wrath of Khan Enterprise is also getting reissued this year and will be released in a few months maybe, i hope we see Excelsior show up soon as well.

Klingon disruptor pistol(TNG style) will be releasing soon as well, wish it was STIII style instead but, i don't mind the beak on the TNG pistol really.

I'll try emailing them as well, I think because I folded the SASE envelope is why I didn't receive mine. I might have to try again.

The STIII BOP does have a cloaking sound effect, it's the third one played in the video I posted so at least they didn't screw that up.

Yeah, I'd also love to get the disruptor, I just wish it came with the stock snap on extension they had in STIII, too bad they didn't through that in there. I still need to get the TOS Phaser too, damn I need to start saving.

Ahhh right so, it does and here i was thinking it may not have when i watched that video of the ex the other day but, i must've been distracted.

The only refit i own by Art Asylum is the Enterprise A and the mold is great but, the paint is lacking naturally compared to TWOK version but, i like the sound effects.

I may get TWOK version of the refit if they solve the crazy light bleed on this reissue but, i think my Bandai refit might look more to scale with Diamond Select's Excelsior.

My TWOK Ent. does have a bit of light bleed around the Nacelles and I think some on the saucer, if they fix this on the new version, I may have to upgrade my original.

Yeah, I recently saw a ST ship model that had a light conversion done that had way too bright LEDs that made the thing just look ridiculous. There is such a thing as too much.

Those red pieces were half of a half moon in shape, the part that I left red was a rectangle kinda in the middle. I found this image online that shows what I'm talking about pretty clearly:

I just went on Amazon and looked at the BOP owners manual, I could read a diagram in the look inside feature that confirmed that those two red rectangles on the front underside of the rear part of the ship are in fact the "Forward Impulse Engines" so these should light up on the Diamond Select ship, but don't. Bummer, It would've been nice if they did.

I'm not liking the new "BOP" shown here, I'm hoping it's just the nature of these Kre-Os and not indicative of what the ship will look like in the new movie. It may be called a BOP, but it's just too small and different looking for me to accept that.

Yes, the BOP looks like it'll be a fun toy... but WHAT a downgrade from the classic design! I'm hoping something got lost in the translation to the Kre-O too because it looks pretty generic. I wonder if the BOP's are just fighter craft (as this is sized) in the new movie and the D7 is the main ship of choice. There are 11 sets in total, supposedly, so it makes me think we might see more sets later in the year if these take off.

I'm not a huge fan of the ship but, i may pick this up and give it a go, should be much easier to paint up rather then trying my hand at a TMP Refit.
