So Ahsoka is basically Gandalf now? Fell off a cliff, was believed dead, went off to a mystical place, and came back with a power upgrade, and dressed in White. Not that I minded the reuse of the trope, but could they have been a little less on the nose about it?
Her new outfit seems more light grey than white so she's more Gandalf the (Light) Grey lol...

Wow Disney sure likes to recycle stars they used in their previous projects don’t they…I thought little Ahsoka looked familiar ..I had to look her up..she’s the kid from SITM 😏

I recognised her name from Barbie, then realised she was in 65 and Love and Monsters.

Well I subscribed to a rolling monthly subscription to D+. Not an annual subscription so I'll be able to cancel when it suits.
Watched the first 4 episodes. I'll watch 5 later today.
The first 2 episodes were rough. Struggled to get through them.
I think the problem is, I just can't care about the leads. The show isn't making me care about them either.
The delivery from all 3 (Ahsoka, Sabine and Hera) is a bit flat and low energy.
They were all much more vital and alive and energetic in the animated shows.
Ray Stevenson has been carrying this show for the first 4 episodes.
Episode 3 was OK. Some nitpicks about the fairly silly action scenes but it was fine. Typical D+ Star Wars show action.
4 was pretty decent. Not much to say about it because it was basically an action episode. Ray was good.
Not a terrible show, better than Kenobi, BoBF or Mando season 3 so far but it's not amazing either. It's not likely to convert me into a Filoni fan.
This show is definitely channeling the PT when it comes to the acting.
I think it'd definitely help to come into this show already liking and caring about these characters because if you're relying on the show by itself to make you give a **** about Ahsoka, Sabine and Hera, I think you'd struggle. I know I am.
I have to give it to the actors from the animated shows, they're so much better than the live action versions.
Apparently 5 is amazing so I'm looking forward to that.
So far though, the villains are the reason for watching this.

I can imagine that being the case for some but I think they set things up pretty well.

This actually changes for Ahsoka at the end of this episode. Back to what feels more like her old self.

If the PT and TCW do nothing for you then the new episode definitely won't top Episode 4 for you.

It was all part of a mystical dream sequence so it made sense to me that everything peripheral to her "lesson" was shrouded in fog. Her rescue from the water does make one wonder if she actually entered the WBW and returned or only dreamed she there. I guess she had to have been in the WBW because otherwise she was holding her breath for at least half an hour underwater while unconscious. Even for a quasi-Jedi that's a bit much lol...
agp be like “Did you just say Filoni changed WBW into it being only a dream!”

Some really great cinematography is this episode.

Loved the shot of the Ghost landing behind Jacen and Chopper and the transitions of Ahsoka falling into and kicked out of the flashbacks. Definitely need a young padawan Ahsoka Hot Toy to go along with Obi-Wan and Anakin.

Betting next week is all Sabine and then Thrawn.

I'm inclined to believe that either the entire ocean or that section of the ocean contained a particularly strong concentration of the Force like the cave on Dagobah and gave Ahsoka an extended vision, and accompanying test, based on "what you take with you." Like Luke before her she was focused mostly on Anakin and his actions so that's who greeted her and tested her even though at no point was it really him.

I'm fine with the nature of that environment allowing her to exist in a state of suspended animation until the test was complete.

If Ahsoka becomes a much better teacher for Sabine going forward after hearing TCW Anakin tell her that teaching is hard and not that fun but if she leaves no legacy then all of Obi-Wan and Anakin's combined knowledge that he passed to her will be lost then that will actually be some pretty awesome growth for her character IMO and will cause me to revise my opinion of earlier episodes where I called attention to how crappy a mentor I thought she was being.

It gave her an opportunity to give in to her anger and hate at what Anakin became or come to peace with it and let it go. She chose the latter and seems to be a different person now without that extra weight on her shoulders.
Ah thanks, that does make sense. Although I never got the sense from Rosario's performance that Ahsoka felt much weight from the experience. Seemed like she had already let most of that go by the time we saw her in Mando.

I just can't get into this so far, and don't feel much of anything, except Filoni is milking himself live action.

I don't MIND, exactly, I just can't get excited about it. It's nice Hayden got a big chunk of time.

Also there's some plot conveniences. Funny thing is, I really like Rebels. Maybe I just can't get past milking that series for all it's worth.

To me this felt like filler until we get the beef. Also lol during some sequences looks like a lot of smoke was used to stretch that budget, so you didn't have to fill the screen space, :monkey3

Also where the kid and Chopper are the waves are relatively calm, but not far off? it's a storm where they fish Ahsoka out, WTF.

Yeah not sure we really needed the entire outfit to be white, maybe just the cloak. But I can't deny that it's a very striking look for her.

And it's not like she emerged from the WBW in all-white, but simply decided to change into this outfit she already had in her closet because it fit her lighter and more upbeat mood better.

Filoni doing the mythological thing, water being the symbol of the unconscious, feminine energy, birth, etc. and she returns cleansed etc. which cretins like me should appreciate instead of thinking - wait a minute, Jedi float stuff, rocks, fruit so why didn't she just pop up like a Jack in the Box or Shang Chi? :monkey3

I need to learn to just park while watching this. It's fine. It is.😁

I guess it will link to the white outfit at the end of the Rebels. They may be inconsistent with the length of the lekkus, but I don't think they neglected the Rebels end and put black outfit on Ahsoka for no purpose.
