No female bosses here at all.... Move along...... :monkey3 :monkey3 :monkey3 :monkey3 :monkey3 :monkey3
would not bother me if they could right a good story but that is not where the priority lies
Boo f'ng Hoo.
Well to be fair it’s not like any of the modern streaming networks are having much success with this formula.

With viewers like that I can see why.

I am reserving judgement until I see the show.

It could be a 100% female POC cast I would not mind so long as the writing (and direction/acting) is good (in fact, so long as the cast are easy on the eyes I might love such a show). As mentioned so many times, that is where Disney keeps failing, but they did somehow make Andor so I will not announce failure for this show prematurely based solely on cast.

I think the crap that has been put out has created viewers like that.
Crap content and content with women are two different things though. I'm all for complaining about bad content, complaining about how many women are in it is something else. Sure a lot of content that has a female majority is bad, Ghostbusters remake for example, but that wasn't bad because of how many **** were on screen. Lots of content with an all male cast is bad, but how many guys are rolling their eyes because it's a schlong-fest?

But lately crap content and content with woman seem to go hand in hand. This is unfortunate and the blame lies at the writers and creators feet.

Again I think the eye rolling comes from what has come before. I’m not sure how much people would care if this was the first predominantly female Star Wars show if the end product turns out great. It’s just that it seems other shows just keep getting ruined by an agenda. The fact that it seems to be fairly predictable to guess how bad a show will be by the number of **** in the lead roles is not just bad for the show but an insult to woman.

The logic of late seems to be, as long as we cast women in the parts we don’t have to worry about making good or interesting characters.

I mean listen to the head writer in charge of The Witcher and what she thinks and then relate that to the success of the show.

I hope the show is great. When I use to watch TCW Ahsoka was my fav character. I should be excited for this show. But all that has been coming out of Disney has ruined my good will.

But with the exception of Andor, Rogue One, and some of season 1 and 2 of Mando, Disney run Star Wars has not really earned my trust.. Hell through Marvel in there and it’s just a pool of dreck.

Your Ghostbusters is a great exampl of what Hollywood keeps doing. have there been any good movies lately where the film or show focuses on a mostly female cast of super hero’s and super villains or just a main female lead in the roles of hero that has not been Ghostbusters level of bad?

Rogue One is one that comes to mind and the 1st Wonder Woman film. I get stuck after that.

Granted I love Yellowjackets but I’m talking more about franchises that are predominately enjoyed by men.

The problem, in my view, is that the non-creatives (especially at Disney, but this is a big problem with all of the major studios) have too much say over creative content. Too many fingers in the pie, as it were.
Yep but the blame belongs on the writers also

“It’s the worst thing ever when you open a script and read the words ‘strong female lead,’”Emily Blunt says. “That makes me roll my eyes. I’m already out. I’m bored. Those roles are written as incredibly stoic..."

Maybe. But I constantly see people like Favreau say they are completely left alone and never meddled with by the suits.

I think the problem is that studios see women-heavy ensembles as a quick fix for not trying: here's some women! Diversity! this will TOTES MAGOTES cover for our absolute lack of a plot! With these women here, ppl will forget all else. ****S! GRRRL PWR!!

Or whatever.

That is not how it works, as audiences everywhere know, and studios have forgotten.

IMO the Ghostbusters female reboot was nothing more than the studio trolling the fanbase. Yeah, we know what you want.... let's give you the opposite of that. Heehee we so sneaky! This made about as much sense as casting a remake of "Steel Magnolias' with an all male cast. I vote we cast Jason Momoa in the Dolly Parton role.

I'm looking forward to this show. To me, it looks really good. :rock

You say this, having seen BoBF among other things...? Truly, bold of you. That right there is tempting some fate. This is calling down a jinx.

I'm still not over it. We got the Mando season 2 teaser at the end of the season, one of the greatest [YES I SAID IT!] SW things we have ever seen. Boba does not even need to open his mouth, he just comes in, throws down and takes over. This guy looks pissed off and you cannot ever see his face - ! How does he do that?

And then the actual show had all the gravitas of a Roadrunner cartoon.

Beware.

I’m optimistic for this show, certainly worthy of a viewing. I haven't watched BoBF yet but I did like Mando (including S3) minus the Lizzo episode and Obiwan.
