Even as close as I was, it was still hot walking in the sun. The Peabody is looking better and better now if CVI is there. :yess:

Trust me, the Peabody is a no-brainer. I'd stay there again even if they raise the rate a little (but I wouldn't tell them that :lol )

Did you get breakfast? Our continental breakfast included coffee, toast, mini muffins and cereal. I called it prison food. :lol

People had a lot of luck with the Rosen next door too. I actually parked in their parking garage all 4 days and would have loved to just walked a few more feet to my room for the night.

That's where Avfin and I saw Warwick Davis.

No. That was the one negative... no free food. :(

I was hanging out with my friends Randy and Nicole Falk in the Peabody lobby late Friday night when Mark Hamill walked by and said hello. He even stopped to take a picture with them, which was super cool (especially considering that would have cost $45 across the street :lol )

I think the reason it was in August is because they had such a late start this time after securing the location.

And, yes, Sideshow must be at the next one. Like I said in another thread, their absence at CV was palpable.

I agree on both counts. And I think part one would be half the reason part two occurred.

I'm sure I'll be up for CVI wherever it is, but if it's at OCCC again, I will be first in line. That place was awesome and the fact that you had inexpensive hotels that were about a 2-3 minute walk was even better. :yess:

I am with you !!!!

Yep. Just give people a year or so advance notice and don't schedule it in between the two biggest conventions in the country and more people are bound to make the trek.

Also, what's amazing is that the most convenient, posh and expensive hotel for CV (the Peabody) was only $139/night. Man, I wish SDCC were like that. :lol

Man that is great. I could have sworn it would have been more.

I had been wondering what the rate for the Peabody was, because it would be really awesome to move across that enclosed walkway in comfort. Especially if in costume...

I'm one who gave up SDCC this year in favor of CV. But I guess the truth is I really didn't have a solid plan to go to SDCC anyway. I think with so many years at SDCC behind me, I'm willing to finally start going for just a couple of days. But I feel the opposite about Celebration. There is so much going on and I'm so new to the scene, plus they only seem to come around every three years.

Glad to see the thread resurrected, after a quiet weekend. :D

Well i Hope you don't feel the same after C6 ;)

While SDCC is the biggest show out there... I am not sure I could find myself enjoying it as much...

The Peabody was amazing. I highly recommend it if CVI is there again.

We only used the covered walkway once (when there was a downpour) because you literally walk straight out of the hotel lobby and directly across the street to the OCCC main entrance... and there were Sheriff's deputies stopping traffic both ways so that you could cross the street without even having to wait for the light to change.

Nice. May have to think about that. But I tell you, I paid $79/night and the shuttle was perfect. Split between two... it was easy on the pocket.

See that also, mine had a full hot and cold breakfast... Waffles, eggs, toast, fruit, potatoes oatmeal.. you name it. Hard to beat with the price.

If anyone cares, I stayed with Bam, P!tu and Agen at the Double Tree...Pink Castle...ha ha ha the pink Castle you cant miss it. It was really nice actually.
