Star Wars Celebration V: August 12-15, 2010. Orlando, FL

Living in Texas I usually head out of here in August to someplace nice like California, or Hawaii. Orlando is not a place that I would consider to be nice. Way too many kids in all the hotels. I hate to waste a good vacation on Orlando. Maybe I will just go for a day or two, then jet somewhere else. They would schedule C5 during the same time that my wife and I planned to head to Australia and New Zeland.

Well I have bad news honey. We are going to have to move things around.

I was hoping for Chicago, but Orlando could be good if we can combine a trip to Disney at the same time. I really want to go if at all possible.

A few days at CV, a couple at Universal to check out Harry Potter and a few with the Mouse might be a good idea.

Boy, if only I could swing, financially, a trip like that....

Just go outside only if necessary!

Hotel > Vehicle of Transport > Convention Center

The convention center is on International Drive which has a trolley you can take up and down. Restaurants/stores galore so you only have to be outside when moving between vehicle or modular entity. :-D

Definitely looking to go since this is in my own backyard so to speak.

I have been to every celebration (minus the first), and have traveled far and wide to attend these things. This is the most bone-headed location yet.

Gee, thanks Lucasfilm. Thanks for choosing the hottest month of the year in one of the most sweltering places in the country. Florida in August is BRUTAL. I nearly fainted from the heat and humidity when my wife and I were foolish enough to go to Disney in August years ago. Now imagine standing in lines for hours and hours while the pungent odor of costumed fanboys fills your lungs during an oppressive heatwave. I hope they have the paramedics on hand 24/7. I'm going to need some serious convincing for this. My excitement level is in the negatives.
