Re: Star Wars: Episode IX - December 20, 2019
I'm stoked for this. I stopped everything while teaching in class to play the trailer on my 65" smart board. The kids know what a dork I am but it was fun watching it with 7th graders to weed out the kids who like SW and those who are wrong!
Trailer certainly has me curious. I think the title is Rey taking the name Skywalker or Luke telling her she may not be blood related, but he would be honored if she took his name.
And I think also that Rey is training with Kylo at the beginning. It makes sense: the light and the dark coming together to defeat the true enemy.
Still hope Anakin and Obi-Wan appear. Lando is fine but honestly he was never a favorite character of mine. I'm happy to have Palpatine back. This will truly feel like the end of the Skywalker story by including him. They have to tie something in to complete this without Carrie. I hope Palpatine defeats Kylo and Rey then Luke returns in a form that he is able to save them by finally defeating defeating Palpatine himself. Would be a great way to give fans pissed that we didn't see Luke actually fight given the opportunity to save the day one last time.
Now they have to find a better way for McDiermad to fight...because judging by ROTS, I never want to see him with a lightsaber again.

Like the Resistance at the end of TLJ I see that there's just the tiniest group of us excited for this. So be it, bring it on!
Kind of crazy how just this teaser really evokes a sense of this being a true sequel to TFA and not an extension of TLJ at all. Pretty sweet huh, ajp, lol.
