Re: Star Wars: Episode IX - December 20, 2019

Like the Resistance at the end of TLJ I see that there's just the tiniest group of us excited for this. So be it, bring it on!

Kind of crazy how just this teaser really evokes a sense of this being a true sequel to TFA and not an extension of TLJ at all. Pretty sweet huh, ajp, lol.

I'm stoked for this. I stopped everything while teaching in class to play the trailer on my 65" smart board. The kids know what a dork I am but it was fun watching it with 7th graders to weed out the kids who like SW and those who are wrong!

Trailer certainly has me curious. I think the title is Rey taking the name Skywalker or Luke telling her she may not be blood related, but he would be honored if she took his name.

And I think also that Rey is training with Kylo at the beginning. It makes sense: the light and the dark coming together to defeat the true enemy.

Still hope Anakin and Obi-Wan appear. Lando is fine but honestly he was never a favorite character of mine. I'm happy to have Palpatine back. This will truly feel like the end of the Skywalker story by including him. They have to tie something in to complete this without Carrie. I hope Palpatine defeats Kylo and Rey then Luke returns in a form that he is able to save them by finally defeating defeating Palpatine himself. Would be a great way to give fans pissed that we didn't see Luke actually fight given the opportunity to save the day one last time.

Now they have to find a better way for McDiermad to fight...because judging by ROTS, I never want to see him with a lightsaber again.

Dude it’s insane.

If AEG, IX, Mandalorian, Godzilla and Terminator are great it truly will be a landmark year long remembered.

Did I mention how much I think Rey looks stunning in this teaser lol

:lol :lol :lol

One thing I love with Lando is that he's clearly no longer in great shape but he so completely owns it and is just so comfortable in his own skin that from what little we've seen it just totally works. I was actually pretty leery of his return until today. Now I can't wait to see how big of a role he has.

Well like all the trilers for the PT and ST, they do a great job of blasting the classic themes by John Williams and I cant help but get excited...

Leia's theme blasting in the background is beautiful and plays very well to this teaser.

Not getting my hopes up that JJ can right the ship.

Obviously the personal training could only do so much.

So trailer take away is
Rey looks awesome.
Lando being back is cool.
Rey looks awesome.
Palpatine laughter gives some hope that new movie is better than the last.
Rey looks awesome.

Did I miss anything?

I would probably seperate Old Lando from the droids like R2 or C3P0 based on his "former fetish" with that disgusting fembot L3 in Solo.

I think you missed the part where Rey looks awesome.

Doesn't Grace do those little bullet points whenever she reviews a movie? That'd be awesome if that was her exact breakdown of the trailer, lol.

I wonder if there will be a flashback scene similar to the unused TFA concept art of a Sith spirit visiting Luke? Maybe Palpantine has been trolling Luke for years until he cut himself off from the force after arriving on Ahch-To.
