It does beat the KOTOR games in the graphics department, but it damn well should since it's a next-gen game and those weren't. However, the graphics are not as good as something like MASS EFFECT.

The eventual KOTOR III is going to blow this game out of the water with a quickness, especially since Bioware and Drew Karpyshyn are on board.

maybe. its no longer called "next gen" anymore. i do think the graphics are better than Mass Effect though. the details in the effects are on par, but the detail in the background is where force unleased takes it.

I don't think anyone is saying it's a "bad" game. It's at least passable and average. It's just not worth the wait or all the hype.

Alas, it isn't; it's almost like a glorified star warsish Final Fight type of game, which is sad. I was expecting much MUCH more. Guess they figure that it says STAR WARS on it and people will buy it regardless.

The reason for that is that it comes internally from within LFL/LucasArts, whereas the KOTOR stuff was written by 3rd parties.

Politics and marketing coinciding, you see.

the point i'm trying to make is that people are way to critical on this game. the story is pretty good and its fun to play.

I agree. But I wouldn't say that the story and plot of TFU sucks. It's just kinda there... a bit above-average for EU fare.

In a reverse sort of way I'm kinda glad The Force Unleashed turned out to be mediocre. Means I can save my cash for the bigger, better games this fall.

Picked this up today. However, I'm going to take it back because:

1) Just got the processing email for the Thor PF
2) The general consensus is that it sucks
3) I'll probably find it cheaper later.

Just got the game, but I had to leave for workstudy right when I got back so I haven't played it yet. Have Crysis: Warhead on the way also.

i just got the call from gamestop about Crysis: Warhead. not sure if i'm gonna keep the order though because i've been slacking off at school and i need to get caught up.

I just bought it. Not expecting the second coming, just some good old hack-n-slash with pretty graphics.

I don't mind fairly simple games. Sometimes when they're too complexed I end up losing interest anyway. Guess that's the old school 70's/80's gaming roots in me.
