So I used an eBay neck adapter and filled the head with hot glue to put them together. Range of motion is excellent now.

It does seem like a better sized helmet for the size of the body. Are you going to try to replicate the scratches and other details?

That looks great TonTon.:clap

People might be able to buy some loose Kylo parts and use that helmet to put together a cheap bash.

Did you pour the glue right into the helmet?

I bought a hot glue gun for $3 today as from my memory the glue isn't caustic and forms a nice mold that's easily removable/sculptable and dries solid in a really short time--maybe a half hour before it was completely solid.

So yeah, just pushed the glue in for a while until it was firmly around the neck peg. Probably used 3 little glue sticks. It's ugly but nothing you see from the outside. Helmet was $6, neck adapter was actually more expensive at $7.50. :lol

I'll possibly try to dremel out the eye visor and put in some mesh there. Maybe I can sand paper some of the silver lines to give it a weathered look but I'm not big on painting, always seem to screw things up there.

The one other mod that would be cool to try would be to add the grill in that the HT helmet has but that's probably too ambitious (but again, I could maybe dremel out some of the key spots on the helmet and maybe add window screen material behind it for the grill).

Thanks, Tali! :duff

Unfortunately the other parts that seem pretty necessary (boots, outer robes/hood/scarf combo, and ribbed shirt) seem to go for a pretty penny. The ribbed shirt also fits the body really well, but since it's stretchy maybe it fits other similar bodies just as well. But I bet if you're cool without the light-up saber, and use this helmet you could get the figure for half price.

I ended up picking up all four of these. They are definitely worth $7 each but they are not quite up to the standards of HT/SSC stuff. They are made out of metal and have that glossy paint that feels like a Hot Wheelz or Matchbox car and some detail is sacrificed for the build material/paint application.

My least favorite is the Kylo Ren mostly due to the eye slit area is solid and makes it look toyish/cheap due to that. You can tell they spent the entire paint budget on that helmet for the silver detail around the eye area so it lacks a bit on the rest of the head. My favorite is probably Plasma's helmet. I thought I would like Poe's the best but it comes off a little cheap.. the eye visor just doesn't like to stay all the way down and the mic stands out from the construction.

Overall, totally worth the $30 for four helmets I spent. Here are some pictures:

Has anyone seen the new Boushh helmet yet? I'm wondering how it compares with the Tomy and SS helmets.

From what I saw in some Asian show pics, the Boussh looked a little small compared to the others, but from what you could see, the Vader and Rebel Commando (RO) helmets looked really great.)

The older Tomy helmets were a bit weird, as if some were 1/7 while others seemed closer to actual 1/6.

I picked up set 1 and 2 for $4 each last weekend. Not something i normally collect, but for $4 i said why not.

Thanks! I'm going there tomorrow to see if mine has anything left.

Anybody pick up the Vader and Stormtrooper set of these yet? I just did and thinking about a head swap with my SS ANH Vader.

Can you post some pics? The sculpt seems a little soft (prob due to the metal) and couldn't be modded other than paint due to the metal, but it looks good.

Vader's mask is all plastic only metal on him is the helmet/dome but yea the sculpt is a little soft. but I dunno I think it looks more like Vader than my SS ANH Vader head. Strom trooper is all metal and looks excellent.helmets.jpg
