Well which version?
The original non specialized release? Or the special ed version?
And the original SW release date was May 25th. That new fandom switched to celebrate May the 4th instead, because their mindless compulsion to be lead and parrot any inane pun they here and can robotically repeat, over an actual historic date, is another reason I wouldn't go on that date. :lol

Yes I know it's a useless molehill to stand on.
:exactly: :lecture

If Disney releases the unaltered OT in 70mm i’ll instantly hand them over all of my money i’ll even go on the dumb May the 4th date lol

You said you found Andor to be "very good Star Wars" and Rogue One "good" and followed this up by wishing for this kind of quality productions moving forward. I simply disagreed with your overall claim. Even if you want to make it all about the writing I still don't agree.
Good writing is supposed to start with interesting and (at least somewhat) likeable characters of which Andor had precisely zero i.m.o. Then we need an interesting setting. Andor had the most boring scrapyard housing and cheap looking outdoor forest camp in SW history. I believe they should've developed this into a regular period drama rather than a Star Wars project (They didn't even bother to modify the real world firearms). Then things need to move on at a pace that lets the protagonist (oops, there wasn't one in Andor...) leave this boring, meaningless life behind and move on to more interesting things (While I personally dropped out early I understand this didn't happen during the entirety of season 1). Then there's the dialogue which is so full of unnecessary padding and cringy banter my ears almost cried in despair. Everyone sounds as if they'd rather kill themselves than doing anything useful with their lives. Hell, even that funky looking red droid seemed depressed. I'd take Lucas' wonkiest attempts at mimicking human dialogue over this bore-fest any day of the week, just as long as the story goes someplace worthwhile. Andor to me was just VERY slow, pretentious and extremely boring and yes; it was all firmly "grounded" in the writing. Also, Stellan Skarsgård is highly overrated... 😉
It's the ability for people to say things like this publicly that really make me wish social media never happened.

I read somewhere that in the next Lesbi-wan serie (the acolyte) they are trying to make a jedi duel that will be better than duel of the fates. The delusion of these people never stops.

Acolyte showrunner Leslye Headland’s wife, Rebecca Henderson, will play Rwoh on the Disney+ show. As a long-lived Mirialan, Rwoh can easily slot into the show’s timeline, but ever since her presence was announced fans have wondered if she would still be using her patented whip. Now, we finally know.

“Vernestra’s lightsaber is purple, and she was able to alter it as a 16-year-old and turn it into a lightwhip,” Henderson told Total Film. Even though an entire century has passed, Vern’s lightwhip is still in working order, promising some innovative action scenes in the upcoming series.

I wonder if Disney will ever give us the OT original theatrical release on Blu-Ray. I hope they do. I really cringe when I see some of the added CGI in the special editions.

It's been inferred that a part of the deal with Disney & Lucas was that Disney cannot put out the original theatrical releases.

I get where you’re coming from but at the end I just found the inner workings of the Empire and of Luthen’s determination to achieve success both very rewarding for me to definitely consider the show worthy SW with quality writing not usually associated with the franchise it was even better than RO!

I’m definitely looking forward to S2.

I know it’s the popular thing right now to hate new Star Wars but I love Andor as my serious drama Star Wars and Mandalorian for my swashbuckling Star Wars.

Obviously the OT always being the proper core experience.
All power to you jye... I cannot say too much about the final "rewards" to be had if following through to the end of Andor s.1. I did drop out early, and that's mostly due to the main character(s) being too unsympathetic for my taste. I didn't really care about whether or not Andor would redeem himself or "make it" in the galaxy. I didn't care for his outlook on the world or his total disregard for the people around him. if I'm gonna spend time with someone (either irl or on screen) they'd better deserve it. The payoff is important, but so is the journey to get there and the people with whom you decide to travel. May the force be with you 😉

They sold me on Andor almost instantly with his R1 opening scene, when he shoots his own informant in the back, to keep the info from getting into imperial hands.
For many, that was a turn away un-SW moment.
For me, from that moment on, I wanted to know how he got there, how this character fits into the SW universe among the sympathetic "good guys".
And the show delivers on that.
By design this was never going to be the easy to love character, who gets mystic powers, weapon, or armor, the kiss from the princess, the reward, medal, or the fanfare parade at the end. ... to the contrary, that's not what he's about.

That half way through his own "epic" :lol origin, Andor is just randomly arrested while picking up munchies for some fine hook-up he just met, has got to be the absolute most authentic, endearing and human character low, you will ever see in the SW U.
Yet at the other extreme, his crawl out from that gritt, to his awakening to the cause, is the absolute most brutally unforgiving and powerful .

Oh, if they released the OT in remastered not special edition form, I would be there in a heartbeat. And yeah, the historical release date would make more sense but we are way beyond that nowadays.🫤

Curious where it was inferred? I’ve never seen anything to back this up.
Around the time TFA came out JJ Abrams said in an interview that he went right to either KK or Iger and pleaded with them to immediately release the theatrical OT but was told something to the effect of there being specific reasons why they couldn't indulge such a request and for him to not pursue it any further.

Most of us who read that interview assumed it was some ironclad stipulation from Lucas that was somehow worked into the conditions of the sale.
