Been getting made since Texas Chainsaw....

I think its very telling that "heroes" are made of serial killers like Myers, Jason, Freddie and even Hannibal Lector. Many people here even have dolls of those characters. Idolizing.

But then, is it really any different than Alien, Terminator and Predator?
I personally prefer creature features. If I want to see people killing people I just watch the news...

I was re-watching Spider-Man: Homecoming this weekend and it got a few laughs out of me that I didn't remember last time, and when I watched the credits, I noticed John Francis Daley wrote the movie. I recognized his name from a few other successful movies and it got me thinking ...

Are there any notable writers or directors that you think would be a good fit for a new Star Wars movie? There are certain creatives that always knock it out of the park. Any movie directed by Denis Villeneuve, or written by Taylor Sheridan will put my butt in a seat (yes, Sicario is one of my favorites). Not that I think either of those two would be a great fit for Star Wars, but I can think of a number of great directors, but none that would be likely to take on a Star Wars film.

For example, would Edgar Wright make a good Star Wars movie? Probably not. He makes fun movies, but I don't see Star Wars as something he'd like to take on.

Is there anyone out there who has the chops to make an interesting Star Wars movie?

I don’t know if anybody can do that anymore because the goal for some reason is to try and piss people off and make people uncomfortable.

Like it’s weird. We seen it with joker 2. Screw the fanbase. Let’s get people angry and that gives us more traction but less money. Very odd

So, she waited 40 years to "attempt" to start a new Jedi Academy? Why 40 years? Was she changing careers?
She was doing Eat Pray Love.

I mean look at what happened when someone like Tony Gilroy came in.

So …
Christopher McQuarrie
Ben Affleck and Matt Damon
Kathryn Bigelow
Guillermo Del Toro
Steven Soderbergh
The Daniels

Interesting picks. McQuarrie and Del Toro I have no qualms with.

But why do Affleck/Damon, Bigelow, and Soderbergh jump out at you? They make good movies, for sure, but I don't see something like Star Wars in their wheelhouse.

Same question about The Daniels, I know nothing of them apart from EEAAO, which was a great movie, but what about their skills would be a great fit for star Wars?
