Its too soon for spoilers.

I would suggest you go watch it. If you have seen episode 3 then today's will still make sense to you.

I'd watch the last one too though, that was a quite good episode, free of snarky robots, Olympic games or new children.

Have not seen today's Mando as of yet, it will be a day or two before I do. I'm going to need to process this one right here first. I almost dont even care about Mando right now. Unbelievable! But its true.
Same here

Did Omega get killed off!!?????

Please, please, tell me that's what happened!!

:rotfl:rotfl:rotfl

I'm sure that's not it, nor will ever happen.... But, one can wish and hope at least.... :monkey3

No.

I have not yet seen season 7 of TCW. But from what I've heard, I think I can confidently say that "Outpost" has serious season 7 vibes.

I would never have believed that compared to a cartoon, live-action Mando is pretty happy and free-wheeling, and the cartoon ends up bringing the actual emotional gravitas. But right now so it is, especially considering only Mando season 3.

Once again I have to wonder at Disney allowing TBB and Mando to run concurrently. Its not showing Mando in a good light, really. Those are strong words.

I wonder about that too and agree. This episode was excellent. More thoughts later, but I'm left amazed that TBB is leaving Mando in the dust regarding quality.

Clone force 99 needs some of the spice Crosshair is getting. I'm satisfied with getting Crosshair's story line alone, it is amazing. The downfall of clone troopers, the rise of stormtroopers and the empire's growth phase with its transition from the republic. Excellent storytelling.

Also happy to see how Palpatine used that silly commander, which I can't remember the name of, to dispose his Kamino issue to allow other forces grow in numbers. Think his "betrayal" was well executed, it supports the perception of Palpatine as a cunning entity who lures in the shadows and is always a few steps ahead.

Where was this type of storytelling and development in the sequels...? The events and motives in TROS were far from cunning, hiding an entire fleet and army from the empire itself, only to have it destroyed in an instant? Palps returning only to be killed by an inferior opponent with plot armor? Sad end to the Skywalker saga!

The last episode was excellent. I agree with you that watching this with Mando made Mando look a bit silly in comparison.

It's Filoni vs Favreau. :lol

Is anyone else getting very serious
Death Trooper
vibes.

I feel like we ended on them
putting Cross under to start the surgical enhancements.
Cross now knows exactly what the Empire is about and that he isnt exempt. Y'all my heart is breaking into eighteen different glass shards for him. I didnt even like him all that much. I am now all NEVER TALK TO ME OR MY CLONE SON AGAIN

His new CO made the horrible Rampart look like freaking Mr Rogers

I am now thoroughly traumatized.

I nearly cried.

omigod

I am actually really upset. Over a cartoon.

no no no this cannot be happening

You should watch Rebels. Power through the first season it’s a little cringy but if you are getting through Bad Batch it’s about the same level. Season 2 picks up and by Season 3 the series is firing in all cylinders.

I say this because you have to watch to get the emotional connection of Season 4 episode 10 Jedi Night. You will cry at the end of that episode. Don’t Google it watch it cause having it spoiled will ruin the impact.

IMO Rebels is the best in SW storytelling.

This episode was absolutely quality SW. It's interesting how the arc of what's happening with Crosshair is the most vital and interesting one on the show, yes even more than Omega. Sorry, but she's more like a walking McGuffin to me than an actual character, though I will grant that she's FAR less annoying than she was in season one (kind of the way Ashoka changed throughout the CW show).

And what an ending! Some potential for the best SW drama here, right up there with "Andor"

Some spoiler-y speculation where I see it going...

Dr. Hemlock has Crosshair brought to Mt. Tantis to persuade him (either willingly, chemically or "Manchurian Candidate" style) to find his brothers and bring him Omega. This leads to a banger of a confrontation between the Batch and Crosshair that will spell doom for all of them or just Crosshair. He'll have to make a choice...stand with his brothers - ALL of them, ALL of the Clones - or betray them and hand over Omega. Somehow Rex, Echo & Cody end up in the mix and it leads to a stunning Clone revolt that can't end well for them and likely very tragically for Crosshair - ultimate sacrifice? Betrayal?

Whatever happens...hopefully the show stays on this great trajectory it's on. With the HT figure announcements and these excellent episodes unfolding, it's a
"Bad Batch" moment right now...

Death Trooper
vibes.
I was thinking this same thing.

The first tell was that Crosshair started wearing the darker armor. It's not pure black the way the Death Troopers we've seen have been wearing, but it's as close to their look as we've seen. I've been wondering if Crosshair was going to be the first Death Trooper and be the one who started the program and trained those elite soldiers.

Those guys have the best accuracy of any soldiers we've seen on screen in Star Wars. It would have made sense that their program started with Crosshair.

Now I'm wondering if the Death Troopers are actually going to be clones of Crosshair. We know that the Empire was interested in Clone Force 99 to make more of them - once it became apparent they wouldn't be able to, they just destroyed Komino. Now there's some doctor on the way - Nala Se? - they're probably going to just take Crosshair's DNA to get clones of him going.

It would make a ton of sense for those troopers to be clones of him and one hell of a plot twist.
