@Cixx

Finn turned on the saber. So did Han in TESB.

Finn did his best to hold off Ren, but he still nearly died. Rey did a much better job because she clearly IS force sensitive.

Yeah but Han didn't fight with one. It always seemed to me you had to have some force skills to use it. Guess not!

My two cents after seeing the 7:30pm showing tonight--I loved it but I will be the first to admit that it is indeed a mix tape of the best aspects of the OT and the Expanded Universe. Take that as you will. I was never a reader of the EU but all of my friends were and they along with some of the synopses on theforce.net used to fill me in on what was transpiring in it. I just never could get into the EU, but that's just me. I appreciate for what it did for over two decades though cause it kept hope alive (see what I did there). And I'm actually glad that Abrams, Kasdan, and Kennedy didn't overlook its influence on what they attempted here. Bottom line--this is THE best Star Wars saga film since Jedi because it was powerful, emotional and utterly compelling to watch. And for one thing and may be the most important thing, that final scene has got me absolutely bat**** insane over what maybe coming real soon! Yeah, it was that great. The mystery about what maybe going here is crazy cause I don't think its going to be what everybody is thinking. Yeah, I really, really need to see TFA again! 9/10.

Gotta see it again and hard to rank em cause it's so different.

ESB
ANH
TFA
ROTJ

But JJ righted the ship SW is back on track.

Man i can't get over Kylo so cool!

Just got back from seeing this. For me, the best SW in 35 years. Going to imax tomorrow.

Yeah, that's what threw me, I loved it as a movie but JJ's style made it seem less "Star Wars". Need repeat viewings to form a firm opinion.

But yes, seeing lots of people rank it #3. JJ would have to be happy; even beating ROTJ is hard when you're competing with nostalgia.

Not me. Totally seemed SW, just in a new but yet same way... Kinda hard to describe. (kinda like 30+yrs have past) :)

FUN RIDE!

Prequel taste GONE!

First ten to fifteen minutes I was not feeling it all and a thought came to my head....

"So this is what it is like to hate a Star Wars movie" :lol Then I started to love it more and more and more :lol Going back tomorrow to see it.

I think for me it was the camera angles and the knowledge that Finn becomes a good guy is why I did not care for the start. I got over the camera angle thing, but I think Disney revealed too much in the trailers. Should have kept Finn switch a secret.

Also, first thing I heard when I walked out of the theater.....

"It was terrible." :lol:lol:lol

Anyone else get a feel of a Clone Wars movie/battle like film in this? Seemed more war like than adventure like.

This.

Force sensitivity/skill is one thing.

Fighting/Saber skill is another.

My Star Wars review prediction.

1. Those who bashed it before release will bash it after.
2. Those who praised it will praise it after.
3. Those who reserved judgement will judge it after.
4. Many people will hate it because its popular and they wish to be seen as counter culture.
5. Many people will go see it and say they loved it , while totally in the dark about it (before and after) so they can "fit in"
6. Disney will make billions either way.
7. 3 more films at least that will all go through the same pre amble
8. Disney will make more billions.
9. Too much merchandise will be licensed , produced, bought and thrown out.
10. I will see each film because most movies suck way worse than any of the handful of sci fi we get each year.

Tomorrow at 3:30 the Force Awakens for me and my kids! Hope everyone has fun, and remember no matter what you think of the end product, the time spent with you family and friends (bashing or praising) is what matters!!!
