So was Leia actually a general or did they give her the title because she led the Resistance

That always puzzled me how a princess became a general.

I wonder if Luke still has a military rank because they didn't refer to Han as a general anymore or call him an admiral

Hunh...I see it as the opposite, unless i'm reading your post wrong.

Pre domesticated selfish uncaring swindling smuggler pirate Han shoots first!

Are you referring to the SE? :lol

Well, he became a "responsible type" in the course of the OT. Now he's back to cheating people. Makes the argument over who shot first kinda pointless in the overall character arc.

I know his son went off the rails, but that shouldn't be an excuse.

Another source of contention for some. She coulda become a Jedi, instead she just continued as a Rebel leader. Same old same old for both her and Han.

Watching again I didn't realize how much more aggressive the FO troopers were. They would just start firing at people right off the bat without saying anything and I know stormtroopers shot first as well, but they looked more patient. Stormtroopers would always say " Stop them " or " hold it "

The Jakuu troopers started shooting at Finn and Rey right when they saw them. A trooper did the same to Rey when Rey tried to take the blaster out. There were a couple of other situations.

Probably more aggressive given that they are trying to take power vs. the empire staying in power, could be argued the military was more complacent under the Empire.

I guess you're right that Riot trooper full on attacked Finn with no fear and I'm sure the trooper knew what a lightsaber could do

Huxx was pretty much Hitler in his speech.

Didn't the First Order start cloning again? Maybe they breed them more aggressive

Yep the Jakku Troopers literally start firing right through the merchant stations without any care for who was in their way.

The First Order is much smaller than the Empire was and so they train their troops and pilots much longer and give them better weapons and ships in order to preserve their forces. The Empire didn't really care how many Stormtroopers or TIE Pilots they lost. The Special Forces TIE's in TFA have hyperdrives and shields and you can see how much more skilled the pilots are. None of them crash into anything like we saw in the ESB asteroid field and DS II. Even inside the crashed Star Destroyer, Rey knew the inside of that ship like the back of her hand and yet the TIE kept up with her, navigating the tunnels at top speed for the very first time while multitasking with his targeting computer.

That's a good point. Those Ties were pretty skilled pilots, If Rey wasn't such a badass pilot they probably would've shot her down.

Which another thing I noticed. The First order just sent two or three ties down to Jakku to get BB-8, wasn't it odd that the falcon left Jakku without a ship following them either they had much confidence in the tie pilots or I'm not sure what was going on

I'm not sure if Rey knew the falcon completely, she said to Finn " I've flown a few ships before but nothing like this " " I don't know how I knew "

Rathtars bothered me less this time.

But man, my TV just seemed too small! Ever since my 61" broke, I had to move the 52" out of the basement and into the living room. I'm waiting to pull the trigger on a 4K / 3D set once I feel comfortable doing so.

No but the cinematography in that moment looked impressive in HD

That I agree with. it did look good.

The movie not being 1:85 makes matters even worse on smaller sets.

Amazing that 52" is considered small now :lol

Which I agree with btw.

Anything below 80" is small for me.
