Wow that's a great gif on their past and future reactions :horror

How sad by Jedi Carrie's voice was already going south. Must've been the drugs :thud:

I wonder if any of them secretly feel like they soiled their OT reputations?

They avoided the PT bullet.

Luke was perfect in all 3 while HF and CF had already been tainted by ROTJ.

They better get Luke right in the next 2 movies, he's safe right now with his TFA reveal.

Maybe Luke's involvement should just stop with TFA just to be safe. :lol

I don't know if this has been posted or not but it's pretty cool. My wife (her "Star Wars" is Broadway) just showed me this from May 4th.

So Hamilton is the biggest thing on Broadway right now and Lin Manuel Miranda, the creator and star, puts on these little shows for the people waiting for standby tickets since the show is sold out for the next year.

So...

Having some time away from the film, I'm wondering if people still really love TFA or if the warm reception has worn off at all. Does this hold up for you on repeat viewings?

Definitely. I may be biased, but IDGAF. I love this movie.

I love it too. It's not as good as Empire or Star Wars, but it's a better whole than Jedi. Jedi though, has some very, very great moments that are a little better Han TFA.

Yep. And I still rank it at #3 out of all 7 films thus far.

It's the Anti-Prequel. I was lukewarm after my first viewing, but then it improved upon multiple viewings and has settled in as one of my faves.

Still #4 for me. I luckily never disliked Jedi the way many do. It would have rivaled Jedi if it didn't borrow so heavily from ANH and didn't have a couple specific scenes that still bug me.

On repeat viewings I think it holds up--i still dislike the things I wasn't crazy about the first go round and still really like the parts I liked the first time.

Watching The Force Awakens with my kids was one of the best cinematic experiences of my life. I mean my son (Luke!) was the same age I was when Empire came out. 36 years later. I couldn't have planned for something that perfect if I tried and the remnant of that experience is always a part of every subsequent viewing. That makes it hard to give TFA a numerical rating or ranking among the other films.

I know it's above Jedi (and the prequels obviously.) It and the original SW seem to alternate between my #2 favorite after Empire depending on what I'm watching on any given day. If someone put a gun to my head and said "rank them" I'd probably say ESB then SW then TFA then Jedi.

I've still only seen it once. I have little desire to revisit it. I didn't like the direction the galactic events went after the fairy tale ending of RotJ. It made their victory hollow. Luke is a pansy and dead beat loser for running and hiding. I don't get the love for this movie. I enjoyed it when I watched it but know it would not hold up with repeat viewings with its narrative faults and the the ANH redundancy. I wish my younger self only watched the prequels once each. I'd probably hate them less.

I also would rank it fourth tied with TPM after the OT. I don't include it or the prequels in my head canon. OT and Legends EU for me.

Empire is a masterpiece, I feel after more viewings the result I think is its as good as ROTJ, I understand he needed to start it of in a similar way to Hope, just to restart the franchise.

The biggest problem was having to see Han get run through, after years of looking forward to the original cast together hopefully in the entire Trilogy.

No Luke or Han in the Falcon....no more Han in the Falcon. :(

I never thought about how "The Force Awakens" can also just as easily be applied to Kylo and also the FO's Starkiller base and i'm sure Snoke will have a hand in this Awakening plot, I still think Han is right, Snoke will be doing some bad stuff to Kylo. He might want to do an Apocalypse and transfer himself into Kylo. I can't get that "leaked" E8 stuff about
Rey being Vader
out of my head, crazy stuff and I actually like it (for now lol).

As long as Luke is appropriately handled I will remain positive about these new characters.

Besides we all know Luke will be joining Yoda and Ben in Force ghost land by the end of E9.
