Re: Star Wars: Episode VII (2015) Discussion Thread

Spielberg and Ford both didn't want Indy to fight Aliens, but Lucus wouldn't shut the **** up about it. Steve flat out says this in the making of features.

The conversation went like this........

SS: Whats the maguffin going to be George.

GL: I want aliens Steven.

HF: You f@#$ing kidding George?

GL: I want ALIENS!

SS: George i did aliens in Close Encounters.

GL: But we can do time travelling aliens Steven.

HF: Cute aliens like the damn Ewoks?

SS: I did cute aliens in E.T. too.

GL: We'll have Indy fight some nasty Russians too.

HF: Ok George just as long as it isn't Jar Jar f#$@ing Binks

SS: What am i getting into now?

Re: Star Wars: Episode VII (2015) Discussion Thread

Hey, I never said Spielberg was strong. :lol

But then again, if you had a persistent *** like Lucas sulking every time he didn't get his way, I dunno. I might just cave too. :(

Re: Star Wars: Episode VII (2015) Discussion Thread

He did, yes. But old age can play a factor into it.

But hey, I wasn't there. I can only speculate.

Re: Star Wars: Episode VII (2015) Discussion Thread

Sure. But i'm still blaming Lucas because Spielberg has made better films in his long and amazing career. "

Also, Spielberg likes his fans too. :lol

First 3 Star Wars, I'll even lump ROTS in there, first 3 Indy movies, American Graffiti, and Willow (if you're brave enough to admit it). When you look at George's resume and see that although it's short, most are in the top 100 grossing films of all time (maybe even top 50 - I didn't check), love him or hate him, that's a hell of an achievement. Add to that the incomparable ILM, THX, etc., and the man definitely has some outstanding accomplishments.

Re: Star Wars: Episode VII (2015) Discussion Thread

Half of those don't count. I'm talking strictly Lucas directed films.

THX 138

American Graffiti

Star Wars

Phantom Menace

Attack of the Clones

Revenge of the Sith.

Indy, and Willow are Lucas produced/written, but not Lucas directed.

Of course you'd talk "strictly directed," because it allows you to dilute the man's body of work.

Re: Star Wars: Episode VII (2015) Discussion Thread

Carrie, Ford and Hamill better have only sitting dialogue scenes, I don't know if i'm ready to accept them doing action scenes. :lol

As it is I think Ford in Enders Game sits thru the entire movie. :lol
