Re: Star Wars: Episode VII (12/18/15) Discussion Thread

Oscorp use spoiler tags. If it happens again I'm sending an infraction.

Am I the only one that finds spoiler tags annoying in a thread that, by definition, is a spoiler thread? There's nothing to actually discuss specific to the upcoming movie that can't be considered a spoiler.

Or maybe this thread needs to be split. One decidedly "NO SPOILERS" and another one "THERE BE SPOILERS AHEAD"

Re: Star Wars: Episode VII (12/18/15) Discussion Thread

Yea, it seems a little odd to me too. There's nothing to discuss except potential spoilers - how many posts of "OMG I CAN'T WAIT!" can you have in one thread?

Re: Star Wars: Episode VII (12/18/15) Discussion Thread

I don't mind the discussion or posting of details, but I think pics should be spoilered. It's one thing to read the rumored leaks. It's a completely different species to see the potential spoilers.

But on the whole, I guess I agree with others. This is a thread about a movie still in production. Spoilers and speculation is pretty much all there is to do here that is of any interest.

Picture of Mark and Carrie from some to-do this past week.

So how is that different from people discussing potential comic tie-ins and posting panel images from the books in the TWD thread? :lol

TWD says "no spoilers" in the thread title and is primarily a thread to discuss the on-going series which has already aired 4 seasons in its primary market with different airing schedules in other markets. Apples and Oranges.

Anyway, if spoilers are off limits for this thread, let's put it in the title. I'll happily create a "SPOILERS ALL DAY LONG" thread because that's the only thing I'm interested in from this thread.

Re: Star Wars: Episode VII (12/18/15) Discussion Thread

Maybe someone should start a non-spoiler thread, leave this thread to the speculation, rumors, spoilers, and general fun that should be had with a Star Wars film.

Re: Star Wars: Episode VII (12/18/15) Discussion Thread

You know, something like Dark Troopers filmed through holocron footage would actually be pretty damn creepy. :lol

While story wise, this is what they shot in the Skelligs, IMO these pics are 100% fake. Someone just went to the location with a cloak.
And no lights. :lol

Wow, she really dropped her weight down.

He looks great!

He looks like a Star Wars version of Burl Ives. :lol

I am surprised no one has made jokes about Carrie and Coke.

Re: Star Wars: Episode VII (12/18/15) Discussion Thread

Of course there will be speculation that's a given. If it feels or looks like it could be some kind of spoiler. Just use the tag. It is really that simple. We don't need two threads for that stuff. Then if you want to read it you can click on the tag and you'll see it. Simple stuff. :rock

It goes both ways.

I don't want to click on anything - it's a hassle on the desktop and a complete mess in Tapatalk. Besides, the same can be said for people not wanting spoilers - don't come read a thread about a movie you don't want to know about… Kind of straight forward. Just in case, it would be good to add the appropriate disclaimer whichever way) to the thread title.

Seems like I'm not alone in this opinion after all and a number of people do want spoilers straight up. If there are those that don't then yes, we might very well need two threads.

Here's how this works.

We don't do two threads for movies and if one gets created I'll close it. If there is a spoiler we use tags. That way both parties can be in the same thread. If this is an issue then just don't come into the thread and search google until your hearts content. I hope that's clear.

Re: Star Wars: Episode VII (12/18/15) Discussion Thread

The things posted in here shouldn't even constitute as spoilers save for maybe chrome Trooper.

All these "I heard from a friend's cousin who knows a guy that this is going to happen *insert pics*" articles are hardly spoiler territory. It's speculation. Those crappy pictures of a hooded dude standing on a cliff side that looks fan made? Oh man, movie ruined. The entire plot has been revealed! I guess this really shouldn't be a surprise though, this section is notorious for overreacting when it comes to spoilers. Case in point, the Walking Dead thread (which will be heating up real soon).

What Oscorp posted was harmless. It was about the equivalence of someone getting a couple of Star Wars figures, taking pics, and explaining "this happens and so and so goes here". There's no context nor validity to pure speculation. I don't remember there being a big deal when that Batman Millennium Falcon vid was posted, or the spy shots of that Driver guy with the Falcon and X-Wing outside the hanger.
