Man I hope all this speculation is way off base. This deal is getting worse all the time.

Who’s the more foolish; the fool, or the fool who follows him?

I never doubted you! Wonderful!

Fools, only now at the very end do you realise the power of the Dark Side.....and so fools.......Luke Skywalker is dead:lol

First time on this thread as I am one of those who will be "going in fresh" when the movie arrives. But I just read that Doug Chiang is involved. Kind of disappointed. Never liked his SW universe. Wish they would have given the creative design for this trilogy to someone else.

He wasn't a problem, there were numerous times where George chose designs that the designers didn't particularly like, and there's designs that were also cases that there were designs that were worse than what George chose, they produce a variety of concepts and don't make the final choices.

And times when George would come in and say I want this added or that removed from concepts, to be fair its pretty unfair to single out one person in the team of artists.

I loved Doug Chang's art. I remember buying the art of book for Phantom Menace and his sketches were amazing. I really loved his designs for the Naboo starfighter and think they hold up with any ship design from the original trilogy. He was told to make designs look like they were new and from a different time before the fall of the Republic. I felt he nailed the look of a pre war galaxy that still fell in line with the Star Wars aesthetic.

Well from the OT alone we know he was the kind of guy who tells Luke a lie in order to manipulate Luke into killing his own father because Ben couldn't do it himself. :lol
