**** those cgi kiwi Clonetroopers.

They may have been kiwi on the inside, but on the outside, they looked intimidating as ****. Those visors and legion colors were great.

Everyone loves Commander Cody.

People are too hard on the prequels and Uncle George. I think the prequels suck for the most part, especially the writing, but the vitriol against them/him on the dawn of Force Awakens is kinda gross.

I didn't like how Attack of the Clones ruined Boba Fett (even though he was already ruined back in 1983). The clone kid and race change was awful. I even inspired you with the kiwi talk, you know that. :lol

The Clonestroopers though? They were fine and served their purpose. There are numerous shots in the Force Awakens trailer where the iTroopers look like fake, CGI video game ****, like when they turn around at that ceremony place with the red "imperial" banner. The weird thing is, they might be practical guys in suits there and still look fake. The clone troopers from the prequels? They looked way better. I can't recall anyone ever bad mouthing them until now, especially during Revenge of the Sith. Is there anyone that doesn't like the Order 66 scene, or the 501st marching behind Anakin at the Jedi Temple to John Williams' music? I didn't think so.

Its just the times. Once upon a time, people loathed the Ewoks. Now, people kinda dig them. Prequels may go that way, some day. It may take a long time, but it'll (maybe) happen too. And the prequels were garbage, so its hard to defend trash

Much respect on the kiwi knowledge. :lol

I always thought they looked weird climbing those steps, their walk didn't match up to the size of the steps. :lol

I think the vitriol against the prequels is well warranted! :lol

And the CGI trooper were terrible! Their movements gave them away every time. Maybe they could do it better now, but back then they totally moved like fake CGI animation. They take me out of the movie every time I see them onscreen. I just don't understand why they didn't spring for a handful of suits for the very least to film scenes where they interact with real people where the artificiality is most noticeable.

If they were guys in suits, they'd look too fat in them the way the suits were designed. Look at convention cosplayers that try to dress up as Clone troopers, especially the commanders, they never look good.

The thing about the CGI clone troopers models is how sleek they were. I don't see how an actual, human head could fit into the ROTS helmet. You'd also need a waist the size of a pipe and the arms of a toothpick to fit into the form fitting armor. The only time I was weirded out by the animation was when they took their helmets off. That was bad ****. The rest of the scenes though? They looked convincing killing off all those dumb ass Jedi, or killing George Lucas' son, or talking to Jimmy Smits.

Nothing will ever top the look, design, and the British crew that were Stormtroopers and Sandtroopers in 1977. I've got tons of nostalgia for the imagery of Luke and Han in Stormtroopers disguise . . . BUT, those days are over. Hell, they were over the second we saw the troopers return in ROTJ and they had their weirdly molded helmets and were getting their ***** kicked by little, cuddly teddy bears. Clone Troopers were fine.

That just shows that they were poorly designed in the first place and why CGI is a bad idea for "human" characters. It's those little subtleties that take people out of a movie. Whether subconciously or not, people notice these things--like the proportions of a true person like you mentioned, and unnatural movements.

So I like the idea of there being real actors in real costumes for the troopers. But I'm also fine with actors being CGI if their physical bodies and appearance are so different than us humans (like I guess Lupita will be). You know the creature is alien so you are willing to look past things that may look unnatural since it just adds to the whole "alien" feel.

Easy solution, don't design them to look like Gal Gadot Troopers.

Then you have these dorky looking bros.

The 77' troopers and then the Snowtroopers a couple of years later were lightning in a bottle.

Carrie looks so much older than she is..have you seen Dawn Wells lately? She's 77 and still hot looking(to me)

Are one/both of these scenes the one where Annie kills all the children? Because I have to admit to not liking that scene at all. In fact, I think that's the most inappropriate scene in any Star Wars movie. I guess we could have had more disturbing scenes, if we saw Jabba raping Leia, Leia and Luke getting it on at some point, or showed little children enjoying life on Leia's planet before it blowed up (why is Leia the common denominator here? :lol ), but we didn't see those things, even if they did or were implied to happen. They showed those little kids and Annie's shadow covering them or whatever? F'd up, in a movie ostensibly aimed at kids.

I also didn't care for the cartoonish CG on the Clone Troopers, but among my many criticisms of the prequels that's probably number 150.

Most of the PT was inappropriate to me..have you seen it lately? Cringe after cringe...

Yeah, that children slaughter scene is wrong at so many levels.

Skinny Troopers definately 150 and up. :lol
