Usual lunacy. Lol

The great thing is people think Georgey boy sold out and gave his legacy away. He's the main consultant post lucas era, it was in the agreement that he's there always even if he can't change anything he will just be there pissing them off.
Very Coy indeed; his $2bn + worth of shares in The Walt Disney Company give him one heck of a say in post-Lucas Star Wars.

From what I've seen lately his involvement is negligent to nonexistent. He didn't appear in that photo of the first read-through of the script, and he hasn't seemed to have had much of an insight into what's happening when interviewed.

Ever since Disney opted not to go with George's story treatment it seems that Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy has replaced him as the go-to person going forward.

I only read the first couple of paragraphs and it does seem in line with the previous rumors I've read and the previews we've seen in the trailers. I stopped reading regardless, in case it does turn out to be real.

I don't mind knowing the general plot of the movie, but I'll draw the line at knowing the full story from start to finish.

I still don't have any reason to think it's going to be Prequel bad. JJ can make a damn good exciting movie, so I know at the very least I will be entertained.

I don't like anything he's directed. :lol

Hopefully that will change with this.

He's got the easiest job in Hollywood, making a SW movie that is better than the PT.

If he makes it actually worse, he's really special.

If it is what a let down- I like some but the Han thing and Luke thing..ughh not feeling it
I HOPE it's all fake!

I agree about your dislikes, the only things I like are

- Kira Rey and Kylo Ren being Han and Leia's kidnapped & separated kids
- Kira Rey being the new Jedi of the series
- Leia being Queen

Yeah, but if I didn't use Spoilers I know someone would make an issue of it.

I've said a few of those things just based on speculation earlier in this thread and someone found an issue :lol

Really? Man, all you have to do is think about the possible story for about 2 minutes and you'll come up with those options. STAR WARS ain't rocket science in its storytelling. That's probably why its so hard to get a good story out of it. Problem is, this new series seems like its relying on the same tried-and-true storytelling that has become so common in the SW Universe. They really need to find a new myth to exploit.

That said, perhaps they will finally use the Arthur, Guinevere, Lancelot triangle that I thought Lucas would use in PT but barely did. It could be a solid enough drama to hang all the bells and whistles on.

Please, I need spoiler tags, I don't want to know if there will be Jedi's and Lightsabers in this movie until I see it.

And troopers, and masked villains in black, and hyper-fast spaceships, and witty dialogue (optional), and a desert planet, and a desert planet, and a desert planet, and a masked villain in black, and angst, and a mysterious power that constantly messes with the galaxy. And odd aliens. And one family that constantly puts the galaxy in danger -- those people really should just nuke the Skywalkers and be done with them.

Seriously, what a ****** family.

I do not think so. We'll see this Xmas. That outline is very juvenile. Even for a Star Wars story. I fear "codenames" -- the catapult? sledgehammer? Are there sledgehammer's in the Star Wars universe?

The writing is definitely juvenile (and incomprehensible at times) but the events that are contained within have all pretty much been confirmed. :(

Yeah, but on the vaguest level one could make similar claims just going by the trailer and the sneak peaks and the "leaked" photos, etc. I'm almost certain that "outline" was planted to focus fans with mostly misdirection (key story points anyway -- not what you can obviously see in marketing).

Now all the main Star Wars concepts have been mentioned in titles: Jedi, Sith and The Force. There aren't too many franchises that can pull that off (Prisoner of Azkaban springs to mind).
